Why Should You Upgrade Shards?
More Conjure & Directional Shard Effects
Upgrading your Conjure Shards will increase how many types of objects that you can conjure. Some enhanced Shards will also have increased range, or even the duration of the ability!
Familiar Shards Get More Abilities
Enhancing your Familiar Shards will let you summon more powerful familiars. These familiars will have new moves and abilities unlocked when they're enhanced.
Manipulative Shards Unlock New Moves
Manipulative Shards such as the Craftwork Shard will unlock attacking capabilities when upgraded! The Bunnymorphosis Shard will unlock new actions for you once it's upgraded.
Rank 9 Passive Shards Become Skill Shards
Fully upgrading your Passive Shard's ranks to 9 will turn them into Skill Shards. This gives you a bonus Passive Shard slot that you can use to equip other Passives that will help you in the game!
How To Upgrade Shards
Upgrade Shard Ranks With Johannes
You will be able to upgrade your Shards with Johannes in Arvantville. He will be to the left side of the save point in the town. Speaking with him will give you the option to upgrade your Shards Ranks.
Ingredients Required To Upgrade Shard Ranks
You are required to bring Materials or Ingredients with you to upgrade your Shards. If you do not have the correct ingredients, you will not be able to upgrade your Shards.
Multiple Shard Copies Increase Shard Grade
Having multiple copies of the same Shard will increase the Shard's grade, which will in turn give the Shard an increase in power. You can collect multiple copies of Shards by defeating enemies that drop those Shards.
Difference Between Rank & Grade
Shards have 2 traits: Rank & Grade. You will be able to upgrade each element by Enhancing your Shards with Johannes, and collecting the same Shard respectively.
Rank Denotes Effects Of The Shard
The Rank of a Shard will show you the effects of the Shard. Upgrading the Shard's rank will increase the Shard's effects such as a longer duration, spawning more objects, increased attack range, and more!
Grade Denotes Shard Power
The power of the Shard is denoted by its grade. Having a higher grade Shard will make the Shard more powerful when it is used!
