Disarming Curse can be effective when unlocking Talent "Dark Arts". The enemies that have been hit with Expelliarmus will be cursed and it will be hit with more damage than usual.

Combine With Ancient Magic Throw Expertise
When you receive the talent "Ancient Magic Throw Expertise", you will be able to attack with the enemies' weapon. To throw the weapon, first you need to take away their weapon with Experlliarmus.
Can Also Use Enemies' Spell Against Them

Expelliarmus can use enemies' spells against themselves. When you throw out the wand out of their hands when they are trying to cast a spell, then the effect of spell will bounce back at them which will give them instant damage.

"Expelliarmus" can be learned when you complete "Professor Hecat's Assignment 2". This is also a challenge requirement for Main Quest "Jackdaw's Rest".
