Chela - Strengths and Weaknesses
How to Use the Chela
The Chela attacks by swinging its crab claw, making it easy to hit enemies to the side. However, its attack startup is slightly slow, so consider equipping a weapon with a faster startup, such as a Katana or Wheel Blade, in your other hand.
Chela's Normal Attack
It attacks twice by swinging the weapon from left to right. Since each attack can hit multiple enemies, it can deal damage to groups of Pseudo Types when they are clustered together. However, its slow startup makes it less suitable for surprise attacks from behind.
Chela's Charge Attack
Holding down the Normal Attack button performs a Charge Attack. The weapon extends far forward, attacking and pulling in enemies it hits. Unlike the Dekotora, the attack does not change based on the charge time. Instead, the Charge Attack automatically activates after a set period even if the button remains held.
May Guard After Being Pulled In
If you pull in an enemy that can Guard, such as a Humanoid, Yotsuyama, or Raider, they may block your follow-up attack and Counterattack. It's recommended to use the Charge Attack's pull-in against enemies that cannot Guard, such as Rippers and Pseudo Types.
Chela's Deathblow
On Deathblow, it launches the crab claw over a long distance. On hit, it clamps onto the enemy and deals 10 additional hits of low damage. Its long range allows for safe attacks from a distance, but its accuracy is low. Face the enemy directly and use Lock-On to improve accuracy.
Chela's Counterattack
Unleashes a Counterattack with three consecutive left-to-right claw swings. Its wide attack coverage and moderate power make it easy to land against nearby enemies.
