If other Yuckies (enemies) are nearby, Avian-type enemies will move toward them and deploy a barrier. Barrier-protected Yuckies tend to attack simultaneously, which can be extremely dangerous, so prioritize defeating the Avian type first. To deal with them efficiently, sidestep their Projectile Toss with a side dodge, close the distance quickly, and then launch your attack.

How to Beat Scampavians & Nocent Scampavians

Evade the Projectile Toss with a Dodge

When the enemy twists its body to the right as if charging up, it is preparing to toss a projectile. Once it rotates its body to the left, use a side or diagonal-forward dodge to evade, then quickly close the distance and attack.

Defeat the Avian First When a Barrier Is Deployed

If other Yuckies are nearby, the Avian type will apply a barrier to its allies. Enemies protected by a barrier cannot have their Exoskeleton chipped away, so when a barrier is deployed, focus your attacks on the Avian type first.

Retreat if Multiple Enemies Get a Barrier

If a barrier is deployed among a dense group of enemies, retreat briefly to regroup. Creating distance can cause the Avian type to stop deploying the barrier, or allow you to separate faster enemies and defeat them first.

Counter Barriers with High-Rarity Weapons

With the highest-rarity weapons available in the Exploration area, you can deal enough damage to overcome the Exoskeleton's damage reduction. As a result, even enemies with barriers will only be slightly harder to defeat than usual.

Move Away After Defeating It

Avian-type enemies self-destruct after death. If you remain near the epicenter, you will be caught in the explosion and take damage, so move away immediately after defeating one.

Use Self-Destruct to Break Exoskeleton

You can destroy an enemy's Exoskeleton by catching it in an Avian-type enemy's self-destruct explosion. This is not required, but positioning yourself as 'You → Avian Type → Enemy,' makes it easier to catch the enemy within the blast.

How to Beat Snatchavians & Nocent Snatchavians

Jump Indicates a Corruption Attack

If a Snatchavian jumps and green smoke appears around its mouth, it is preparing a 'Corruption-inflicting attack'. As soon as it jumps, create distance with a back dodge or dash.

Wings Spread Indicates a Steal Attack

When it spreads both wings wide, it will dive in with a steal attack. If the attack hits, it can steal an item from your backpack, so create distance with a back dodge or dash as soon as the wings spread.

Defeat the Fleeing Avian to Recover Your Item

When an Avian steals an item, it will curl up and flee, but you can recover the stolen item by chasing it down and defeating it. Avian-type enemies can also steal equipped items, so watch out for their steal attack.

How to Defeat Flapavians

Spinning With Sound Signals a Delayed Projectile Toss

Flapavians use a projectile toss like other Avian-type enemies, but if you hear a high-pitched 'piro-riro-riro' sound while it is spinning, the toss is delayed. The projectile is released one beat later than normal, so wait briefly after hearing the sound before you evade.

Jumping With Sound Signals a Delayed Corruption Attack

If a Flapavian jumps and you hear a high-pitched 'piro-riro-riro' sound, it is preparing a delayed Corruption attack. Creating distance as soon as it jumps allows you to evade both the normal and delayed Corruption attacks.
