Lurky-type enemies are Yuckies (common enemies) that block exploration routes. Because they remain mostly stationary, players can choose to bypass them and avoid combat. Additionally, approaching from behind prevents them from blocking the path, allowing you to ignore them and pass through safely.
Ranged Attacks Work on Lurky Types

Lurky-type enemies have limited movement range and slow mobility, making them easy to defeat with ranged attacks. Using weapons such as the Wheel Blade or Fireworks Shooter allows you to eliminate them safely without taking damage.
| Best Ranged Weapons | - Wheel Blade's Deathblow - Hammer's Deathblow - Fireworks Shooter's Deathblow - Fireworks Shooter's Normal Attack - Guard Breaks Pattern 2 (Wheel Blade x Fireworks Shooter, etc.) - Guard Breaks Pattern 6 (Fireworks Shooter x2) |
Guard Counterattacks Are Also Effective
All Lurky-type attacks can be guarded except for 'Guard Spike Shot.' Focus on triggering Guard Counterattacks, and when the enemy retreats into its shell, use Guard Break attacks. This strategy is especially effective if you have 100 Guard or a Core that recovers Health on a successful counterattack.

Wall Clears After Lurky-Type Defeat

When a Lurky-type enemy detects you, it immediately generates a Rotting Carcass wall to block the path. Due to its wide detection range, bypassing it is difficult, so defeating the Lurky-type enemy is the most reliable way to clear the route.
Tips! | It does not generate a Carcass when approached from behind. |

For Flamethrower, Move Away or Counterattack
When it points its small arms forward and emits a blue light, it signals a Flamethrower attack. The attack range is relatively narrow, so stepping back slightly allows you to evade it. The Flamethrower can also be Guarded, making Guard Counterattacks a reliable response.
For AoE Attack, Move Away or Guard
When it points its small arms downward and fires a jet, it signals a jump followed by an area-of-effect (AoE) attack. Once you recognize this tell, either move away immediately or block it with a Guard. While the AoE attack can be Guarded, it will knock you back, preventing a Counterattack.
For Spike Shot, Move Back or Evade Sideways
When it covers its face with its Iron Door, it signals a Spike Shot attack. The spikes are fired diagonally from the enemy's point of view. To avoid the attack, face the enemy head-on and move backward, or dodge widely to either side.
Guard Breaks for Major Damage
If you land Guard Break attacks immediately after it retreats into its shell, you can deal significant damage, so timing is crucial. While its Iron Door is closed, most attacks other than Guard Breaks will be ineffective.
How to Beat Lurky Barrow and Nocent Lurky Barrow
Spike Shot Becomes 3-Directional
For Lurky Barrow types and Lurky Sorrow, the Guarded Spike Shot becomes three-directional, firing forward and diagonally forward from the enemy's perspective. When it closes its Iron Door, either strike immediately with Guard Break attacks or evade by creating distance or dodging to its side.
Guard the Spit Attack
When it closes its mouth and slightly raises its head, it signals a Spit Attack. The attack has a fast startup, making it difficult to Guard on reaction. Either engage from outside its range using ranged attacks, or maintain your Guard and wait for the Spit Attack to Counterattack.
How to Beat Lurky Sorrow
AoE Attack Changes to 3-Hit Combo
The Lurky Sorrow will perform two additional consecutive area-of-effect (AoE) attacks after its initial jump. Even if you Guard or Evade the first hit, avoid approaching immediately and wait for the full combo to finish before closing in.
