How to Beat Yotsuyama Sentries & Elite Sentries
Defeat the Researchers Later

Yotsuyama Researchers are defenseless and do not attack, but defeating them first will cause Yotsuyama Sentries and Elite Sentries to aggressively pursue the player. It is safer to leave the Yotsuyama Researchers for later.
Achievement for Defeating Researchers First

You can unlock an achievement by defeating a Yotsuyama Researcher before a Yotsuyama Sentry. This is easiest to accomplish using wide-area attacks, such as the Fireworks Shooter or Evil Rod Deathblow.

Yotsuyama Are Dangerous After Defeating a Researcher

If you defeat a Researcher first, Sentries and Elite Sentries will begin searching for the player and patrol a wide area of the field. Be cautious, as they become highly dangerous and will attack anything they detect except other Yotsuyama.
Yotsuyama Lack Exoskeleton

Like Raiders, Yotsuyama do not have an Exoskeleton and only possess a Health bar. Be cautious, as using a Guard Break on them while they are guarding will not create a significant opening.
Use Ranged Attacks
| Best Ranged Attacks | - Wheel Blade's Deathblow - Hammer's Deathblow - Guard Break Pattern 2 (e.g., Wheel Blade × Fireworks Shooter) - Guard Break Pattern 6 (e.g., Fireworks Shooter ×2) |
When facing Yotsuyama Sentries and Elite Sentries, it is safer to rely on ranged attacks. Gradually wear down their Health using Deathblows from the Wheel Blade or Hammer, or ranged Guard Break attacks.

The Evil Rod's Deathblow is Effective
Although it consumes two bars of the Rage Gauge, the Evil Rod’s Deathblow is highly effective against Yotsuyama. About four seconds after the hit, the Judgment effect activates and creates a brief opening. Using another Deathblow or a normal attack during this window allows you to deal significant damage.
Magnetic Staff Deathblow Works
Yotsuyama Sentries and Elite Sentries have strong Guard, but pulling them in with the Magnetic Staff’s Deathblow allows for a follow-up normal attack. For maximum damage, use a sequence such as: Magnetic Staff Deathblow → one Magnetic Staff combo → once Judgment activates, continue with additional normal attacks or another Deathblow.
Lure Yotsuyama into Yuckies

Yotsuyama and Yuckies will attack each other when they detect one another, so luring Yuckies toward Yotsuyama to trigger infighting is an effective tactic. This strategy is especially easy with Milene, who can lure enemies and then escape using her 'Stealth' skill.
Milene Strengths & Best Mastery
Attack While Yuckies Act as a Decoy
When Yotsuyama Sentries or Elite Sentries are engaged in combat with Yuckies, you can safely deal damage by attacking the Yotsuyama from behind using a Deathblow or normal attack.
Attack After Evading the Enemy's Attack
Yotsuyama Sentries and Elite Sentries have strong Guard and are difficult to damage. When a Yotsuyama charges toward you, it will usually attack, so evade the attack first, then quickly follow up with a normal attack or other moves.
