Yotsuyama Researchers do not attack, so they can be easily defeated. Yotsuyama Sentries and Elite Sentries carry Weapons and will also Guard and Counterattack, so carelessly engaging in close-quarters combat will likely get you defeated. Let's deal Damage gradually with ranged attacks.

How to Defeat Yotsuyama Sentries and Elite Sentries

Defeat the Researchers Later

Yotsuyama Researchers are defenseless and do not attack, but if you defeat the Researchers first, the Yotsuyama Sentries and Elite Sentries will chase after the player. It's safer to leave the Yotsuyama Researchers for later.

Unlock an Achievement by Defeating Researchers Before Sentries

You can unlock an achievement by defeating the Yotsuyama Researcher before the Yotsuyama Sentry. It's easier to achieve this by using attacks with a wide range, such as the Fireworks Shooter's or Evil Rod's Deathblow.

Yotsuyama Are Dangerous After Defeating a Researcher

If you defeat a researcher first, the sentries and elite sentries will start searching for the player and Move over a wide area of the field. Be careful, as they become a dangerous presence that will start fighting everything they detect except other Yotsuyama.

Yotsuyama Do Not Have an Exoskeleton

Like Raiders, Yotsuyama do not have an Exoskeleton and only have a Health bar. Be careful, as hitting them with a Guard Break while they are guarding will not create a large opening.

Fighting with Ranged Attacks is Recommended

Recommended
Ranged Attacks
- Wheel Blade's Deathblow
- Hammer's Deathblow
- Guard Break Pattern 2 (e.g., Wheel Blade × Fireworks Shooter)
- Guard Break Pattern 6 (e.g., Fireworks Shooter ×2)

When facing Yotsuyama Sentries and Elite Sentries, it's safer to fight using ranged attacks. Gradually reduce their Health using the Deathblows of the Wheel Blade or Hammer, or Guard Breaks that act as ranged attacks.

The Evil Rod's Deathblow is Also Effective

It uses two bars of the Rage Gauge, but the Evil Rod's Deathblow is also effective against Yotsuyama. After the Deathblow hits, the Judgment effect will activate after about 4 seconds, creating a small opening. If you follow up with another Deathblow or Normal Attack during that time, you can deal massive Damage.

The Magnetic Staff's Deathblow is Also Effective

Yotsuyama Sentries and Elite Sentries have a tough Guard, but if you pull them in with the Magnetic Staff's Deathblow, you can follow up with a Normal Attack. Aim for massive Damage with a flow like: Magnetic Staff's Deathblow → one combo with the Magnetic Staff → once Judgment activates, follow up further with Normal Attacks or another Deathblow.

Make Yotsuyama and Yuckies Fight Each Other

Since Yotsuyama and Yuckies will start fighting each other when they detect one another, luring Yuckies near Yotsuyama to make them fight is also effective. It's especially easy with Milene, as she can lure enemies and then use her Scan Skill to escape.

Milene Guide - Strengths & Recommended Mastery

Attack While Yuckies Act as a Decoy

When Yotsuyama Sentries or Elite Sentries are fighting Yuckies, you can safely deal Damage by attacking the Yotsuyama from behind with a Deathblow or Normal Attack.

Attack After Evading the Enemy's Attack

Yotsuyama Sentries and Elite Sentries have a tough Guard and are difficult to Damage. When a Yotsuyama runs towards you, it will often attack, so try to evade its attack and then quickly land a Normal Attack or other moves.
