Certain abilities, like Deathblows and Guard Breaks, enable ranged attacks.
Wheel Blade's Deathblow
Wheel Blade's Deathblow excels in long-range combat against foes like Humanoids, Lurky Hollows, Scampavians, etc. Its projectile speed, the fastest among ranged attacks, makes enemy evasion difficult.
Hammer's Deathblow
The Hammer's Deathblow is also a long-range attack but features a slower tornado projectile. Use it to strike unaware enemies from behind or early to keep enemies at bay as they approach.
Evil Rod's Deathblow
The Evil Rod's Deathblow launches a Spirit forward that explodes upon impact with an enemy or wall, dealing additional area damage. Its range is considerable, allowing you to launch surprise attacks from positions where enemies are unaware.
Guard Break Pattern 2
"Guard Break Pattern 2" involves a backstep while firing a red projectile, making it difficult for enemies to counter-attack even if it misses. Its spammable nature is excellent, making it recommended against Humanoids, Yotsuyamas, and Dreamcravers.
Guard Break Pattern 6
"Guard Break Pattern 6" fires a red projectile straight ahead. It's a safe way to defeat less mobile enemies like Lurky Hollows and Lurky Barrows from a distance. Note that you need to equip a Fireworks Shooter or Corrupted Fang in both hands, which makes close-quarters combat more difficult.
Guard Break Pattern 8
"Guard Break Pattern 8" places a slowly advancing red projectile on the ground. The move's activation is slow, and the projectile is also slow, making it quite difficult to hit. When a Humanoid or other enemy approaches, try to place the red projectile early, like a landmine.
Fireworks Shooter's Normal Attack
The Fireworks Shooter's Normal Attack leaves a lingering hitbox on the ground for a while after it lands. When facing tough enemies like Humanoids, Yotsuyamas, or Dreamcravers, you can fight safely by using a "kiting" tactic of firing a Normal Attack and then backing away.
Best Early Game Ranged Attacks
Early Game Ranged Attack Recommendations
Here are the top three ranged attacks to prioritize in the early game:
Find a Wheel Blade

The Wheel Blade stands out as a top choice for early-game ranged combat. Its Deathblow excels at range, and its Guard Breaks patterns also support ranged playstyles. While primarily a melee weapon, its Normal Attack includes a useful lunge to close gaps.
Fireworks Shooter Is the Second Best

The Fireworks Shooter is relatively easy to acquire early on and provides consistent ranged damage. When paired with weapons like the Wheel Blade, its Guard Breaks can also extend into effective ranged options, making it a versatile secondary weapon for early-game builds.
