Odachi - Strengths and Weaknesses
How to Use the Odachi
The Odachi has slow startup and wide, sweeping attacks, so it struggles against fast and highly mobile enemies but its defining trait is that its Deathblow steals the opponent’s Rage Gauge, perfect for more advanced players. Against Humanoids or Yotsuyama, you may need to switch to faster weapons such as the Wheel Blade or Bat.
The Normal Attack is a 2-Hit Combo
The Odachi’s normal attack is a two‑hit sweeping combo with slow startup. Both swings have long reach, but if the first hit connects, the second hit will knock the enemy back. Its lunge distance is about the same as the Axe.
Deathblow Absorbs the Opponent's Rage Gauge
The Odachi's Deathblow is an upward swing attack with a short charge animation. On hit it absorbs the opponent’s Rage Gauge and knocks them back. This makes the Odachi a strong counter in Raider fights where you can use the Deathblow to turn the tide of battles.
The Counterattack is a Downward Diagonal Slash
The Odachi's Counterattack is a downward diagonal slash. When the attack hits, the enemy is knocked back.
