Gomamusha Battle Strategy
- Transitions to a second form when its Health reaches 0
- First, destroy its Exoskeleton
- Be careful of the Judgment Status Effect
- The Counterattack Health recovery Core is effective
Transforms into a Second Form When Health Reaches 0

Gomamusha has two forms in total. When its first form's Health reaches 0, it transforms into its second form, so you must reduce its HP to 0 twice to defeat it.
Cannot Be Damaged During Transformation

During Gomamusha's transformation, you cannot deal Damage, and your Rage Gauge will not increase. Use this time to heal with Skills or items, or retrieve items from the Safe Box.
First, Destroy the Exoskeleton

When fighting with Epic Rarity or lower Weapons, you can't deal Damage without destroying the Exoskeleton first. First, reduce the Exoskeleton gauge with Normal Attacks or Deathblows to destroy it.
Legendary Rarity Weapons Can Deal Damage

Legendary Rarity Weapons can deal Damage through the Exoskeleton. Challenging it with Body Rank 5, which allows equipping Legendary Rarity Weapons, makes the fight easier.
Beware the Judgment Status Effect

Getting hit by attacks that glow blue will build up Judgment, and when it reaches a certain amount, Judgment will activate. After Judgment activates, you'll take Damage and be unable to move for about 3 seconds, so be careful.
| Note! | Equipping a "+100% Status Effect Resistance" Core will prevent Judgment from activating. |
|---|
The Counterattack Health Recovery Core is Effective

Some of Gomamusha's attacks can be Counterattacked. Equipping a "Health (per Counterattack)" Core will help you save on healing items.
+Dodge Count and -Stamina Cost are also effective

Gomamusha's attacks are fierce, so you'll tend to use Dodge and Guard frequently.
Increasing the number of consecutive dodges with +Dodge Count, or reducing the penalty of Guarding with -100% Guard Stamina Cost, will give you an advantage in the fight.
How to Beat Gomamusha's First Form
Dodge the 2-Hit Slash
When it holds its Katana near its right hip and a red circle effect appears, it will fire an unguardable red slash. When it raises its left Katana, it's a guardable blue slash with the Judgment attribute.
It often fires two slashes in a row, so at the very least, evade the red slash with a Dodge.
Counter the Thrusting Lunge with a Dodge or Guard
When it holds its sword with both hands near its right hip, it's a sign of a lunging attack. After confirming the lunge has started, evade with a side Dodge or block it with a Guard.
After this attack, Gomamusha will be open, allowing you to get close and attack.
Guard and Counterattack the Left-Handed 2-Hit Slash
It will unleash a 2-hit slash with the Judgment attribute using its left-hand sword. After guarding the second hit, retaliate with a Counterattack.
The first hit can also be Counterattacked, but Gomamusha doesn't flinch from Counterattacks, so you'll take the second hit. There's little benefit, so it's recommended to evade the first hit.
Also Guard and Counterattack the Right-Handed 2-Hit Slash
It can also perform the 2-hit slash with its right hand. Just like with the left hand, Counterattack after guarding the second hit.
Evade the Jump Attack by Moving Out of Range
When Gomamusha slightly Crouches and a blue circle effect appears on the ground, it will activate a Judgment-attribute area-of-effect attack. The blue circle is the effective range, so either escape the area or Guard.
After Gomamusha lands, it will be open, creating a chance to attack.
Evade the Shockwave or Move Out of Range
When a yellow circular effect appears on Gomamusha's right hand, it's a sign of a ground slam shockwave + backward Jump attack. The range is wide, so move away from Gomamusha or block it with a Guard.
Escape the Great Spinning Slash or Use a Deathblow
When Gomamusha readies its Katanas with both hands and a red, hazy effect appears on its Head, a great spinning slash is coming. It's a wide-range, unguardable attack, so either get away as soon as you see the motion or stop it with a Deathblow.
How to Beat Gomamusha's Second Form
Dive Attack After a Barrage of Slashes
This is an attack it always uses right after transforming. After firing 6 slashes, it will perform a long-range dive attack. Evade the slashes by moving and dodging, and Guard the final blow.
To Guard the final blow, be careful not to use too much Stamina evading the slashes.
| Note! | The blue slashes and the final dive attack have the Judgment attribute. |
|---|
Dodge the Aerial Dive Thrust
After Gomamusha jumps into the air, if it raises its right-hand Katana and a red circular effect appears, this attack is coming. It's an unguardable attack, so Dodge to the sides the moment Gomamusha lands.
Dodge or Guard the Aerial Area Attack
When Gomamusha jumps into the air and blue and yellow circular effects appear, that's the sign for this attack.
The area around the lunge's landing point will be the attack range, so escape the area with a Dash + Dodge, or block it with a Guard.
| Note! | This attack has the Judgment attribute. |
|---|
Dodge the 2-Hit Lunge with Good Timing
The second form's lunge attack is a 2-hit combo. The first hit can be dodged or guarded, but the second hit is unguardable, so you must evade it with a Dodge.
If you try to avoid it by mashing Dodge, you'll get hit by the second attack, so it's recommended to pause for a beat before evading.
Guard and Counterattack the Left-Handed 3-Hit Slash
When a blue effect appears on Gomamusha's left hand, it's the sign for a 3-hit Judgment attribute attack where it slashes while moving forward. Guard the third hit, then retaliate with a Counterattack.
Evade the 4-Hit Combo with Dodges
When Gomamusha twists its body to the right, a 4-hit combo while moving forward is coming.
You can evade it by maintaining distance while using Dodge. The final attack is unguardable, so be sure to evade it with a Dodge.
Evade the Red 2-Hit Slash with a Dodge
When a red effect appears while Gomamusha is holding its Katana at its right hip, it will fire red slashes. It's a 2-hit slash combo, so Dodge to the sides to evade it.
If It Turns Its Back, an Explosion is Coming
If Gomamusha turns its back, it will explode its back on the spot. It's difficult to evade on reaction, so it's recommended not to over-commit to attacking even when you have an opening, and to always keep your Health at a certain level.
If You Stop It with a Deathblow, Don't Follow Up and Get Away
The explosion can be forcibly stopped by landing a Deathblow, but Gomamusha will immediately try the same move again.
It will keep trying until it completes the full sequence of exploding and then escaping, so if you manage to stop it with a Deathblow, get away immediately.
