Metal Whip - Strengths and Weaknesses
How to Use the Metal Whip
The Metal Whip excels at hitting multiple enemies at once, making it especially effective against Pseudo Types that often appear in pairs and in areas where enemies are clustered together.
Its attacks have a relatively slow startup, so it is recommended to equip a fast-attacking weapon in your off-hand, such as a Katana, Wheel Blade, or Magnetic Staff.
Metal Whip's Normal Attack
This attack hits enemies in front of you twice in an area of effect. If the first hit connects, the second hit is guaranteed to land as well.
Its main drawback is the slow startup of the first hit. Against enemies that can Guard, such as Humanoids and Yotsuyamas, consider using a faster weapon or attacks that can break Guard.
Metal Whip's Deathblow
It slams the whip down to unleash a four-hit combo. If the first hit connects, the remaining hits will chain together, allowing all four strikes to land. Use this attack to deal heavy damage after breaking an enemy's Exoskeleton or when a boss is left vulnerable.
Metal Whip's Counterattack
It performs a counterattack by swinging the whip in a wide arc. The attack covers a large area, allowing it to hit multiple nearby enemies at once. It also deals solid damage, making it a counterattack worth using whenever the opportunity arises.
