Abby's Silenced Weapon
The Crossbow is Abby's high-powered silenced weapon. While it does take a long time to reload, the Crossbow can penetrate heavily armored foes and can reach distant enemies.
Can Be Equipped With A Scope
The Crossbow can also be upgraded to equip a 4x Scope. With this attachment, your Crossbow can be used to accurately hit targets from afar.
Bolts / Arrows Can Be Recovered
The Bolts of the crossbow have a higher chance of staying intact when shot compared to the arrows of Ellie's Bow. Take advantage of this and aim for headshots for a higher chance of recovery.

Unlike Ellie's Bow, the bolts for the Crossbow are not craftable. Try to recover them after every combat encounter to replenish your ammo count.

Found In The Ship In "The Coast"
The Crossbow can be acquired in the abandoned ship in "The Coast" chapter. You can't miss it as you will have to pick it up to advance.

Recommended Upgrades
Go For Reload Speed First
The Reload Speed upgrade allows Abby to quickly mount a bolt to fire the Crossbow again. This tremendously helps if you need to take down multiple enemies without sounding the alarm.
Stability Goes Second
Picking the Stability upgrade is quite important as you'll likely use the Crossbow to take down enemies from a distance. Having this effectively keeps your aim stable, increasing your chances of landing accurate shots.
4x Scope Goes Last
Although highly recommended, this varies per player as some are able to reliably take down foes even without this upgrade. Get this if you continue finding yourself needing to silently take out foes from afar.
