1. Locked Gate - Tips
Fuel Required To Proceed
The gate you find here will not be accessible due to lack of fuel in the generator. According to the note you found previously, you will need to find the Courthouse and a Dome to find fuel for it.
2. Exploring The City - Tips
Open World Area With Points Of Interest
The downtown area of Seattle is a semi-open world with multiple explorable areas and activities. Before proceeding to find the fuel for the gate generator, consider searching the area for items & workbench.
Tap The Touchpad To Open Map
You will now be able to open the town map by tapping on the Touchpad. You can locate your current location and other points of interest will be updated automatically.
3. The Domed Building - Tips
Multiple Infected Along The Way
Once reaching the Domed Building, head to the back garden area to find a chained gate which you can squeeze through. You will encounter several infected here, try to stay low in the grass to hide and stealth kill them.
Use Cargo Cart To Climb & Get The Fuel Can
After dealing with the Infected, you will be able to head inside the building via the platform on a broken stained glass window. Once inside, look for cargo cart to push on the yellow rimmed fence to climb over it. You can find an empty gas can near the fuel tank.
4. Courthouse Garage - Tips
Enter Courthouse Via Vined Window
You can enter the courthouse from the vined window at the scaffolding. You will see a button prompt once you get near this window. Be warned, there will be multiple Clickers and Runners inside.
Crafting Training Manual Found In Courtyard
Behind one of the locked office room with the yellow door, you can find a Crafting Training Manual. You can enter this room by breaking the room window. The manual will be found on the wooden shelf.

The Courthouse garage, and the required fuel can be found on the basement floor. Use the elevator shaft to rope down to the flooded basement. You will find multiple Infected and white tank to fill your gas can.
5. Power the Generator to Open the Gate - Tips
Use Password Combination From The Gate
You can find the password combination to open the gate here in the Password Combination artifact found at The Gate. The Password for the gate will be 5345 .
You Will Not Be Able To Return Once Exiting The Area
After completing the objectives and proceeding to the next chapter, you will not be able to return to this area. Be sure to search thoroughly before proceeding out of Downtown!
6. Serevena Safehouse - Tips
Clear The Infected & Search Room For Cutscene
The WLF safehouse, Serevena Base is overrun by infected. Clear the Runner horde and proceed to search the hotel rooms. One of the room with the red tint will trigger a cutscene. Exit the hotel after the movie.

Semi-Open World Exploration
Downtown Seattle is a semi-open world that the player can explore to look for items, abilities, and weapons. Searching and rummaging through the ruins can help you get the advantage early on in the game as some items can be unlocked just by exploring.
