What Are Bounties?

Gain Cred & Money For Killing Targets

Bounty Hunting

Successfully eliminating a target that is Wanted in Night City will get you some Street Cred, Money, or perhaps both. Targets will have a star rating on their bounty class, determining how notorious a criminal they are.

Scan To Check For Bounties

Bounty

When you scan a gang member or boss, you'll be able to see detailed info on their Bounty Class. If they do have a bounty on them, you'll even be able to see exactly how much Cred or Money you'll get for killing them.

You Must Eliminate The Target To Get The Bounty

Bounty

You will have to kill your bounty target in order to get a prize. Disablign them will not be enough - you'll have to actually land the finishing blow!

Where To Find Wanted People

Usually Found In Back Alleys Where Gang Members Lurk

Most gang members you find in back alleys across Night City will have some form of a bounty on their heads. It's definitely worth killing these, but the rewards on their head are for the most part rather small. It's not super efficient to target gang members indiscriminately just to get their bounties.

Bosses Of Main Jobs, Side Jobs, & Gigs

Bounty

↑ Matilda K. Rose, a boss with a $15,000 and 1500 Cred bounty on her head.

Bosses of jobs and gigs will give you a significantly higher amount of money, ranging up to even the 10s of thousands. These are much more efficient and worth your time than small fry gang members. Note that if the mission requires you not to kill someone, just wait for the mission to clear and then go back to the incapacitated boss to deliver the killing blow. You'll need to actually kill them to claim the bounty!
