Spiral of Destinies Guide

This is a guide about the Spiral of Destinies game mode in Sword of Convallaria (SoC). Read on to see how to progress, a list of facilities, and the rewards for playing SoD!

How to Progress in the Spiral of Destinies

Select Elysium Characters

You can select and bring 3–5 of your Elysium Characters into the Spiral of Destinies. Their existing Skills and Traits carry over, immediately making it easier to progress through the Spiral.

Note!Elysium Support System

With a recent update, you can now use all of your trained characters in battle within the Spiral of Destinies.

Manage Weekly Activities

The Spiral of Destinies is structured in weekly phases. Each week, you carry out Quests, which are either Battles or Dispatches, and utilize various facilities. Once you’re finished, you can select "Next week" from the bottom right of the screen to move on to the next week.

Tip!Prioritize Achieving Objectives

Clear requests and fill the gauge in the upper left of the screen. Filling the gauge fully will achieve the current objective and grant rewards. Failing to do so can sometimes end the run prematurely. However, with a few exceptions early on, the story can still progress even if you fail the objective.

Tip!Train Your Mercenary Members

Train the members of The Sword of Convallaria by gathering funds through Dispatches, recruiting characters at the Tavern, and raising their Level at the Training Ground.

Reach the Ending

Continuously work towards objectives to reach the ending. Important choices will appear along the way, and your decisions will significantly affect the ending.

How to Accept and Choose Quests

Accept Quests in the Leader’s Office

In the Leader’s Office, you can accept both Battles and Dispatch quests. You can only accept one battle per week, but Critical Events do not count toward this limit. You can also access the Archive to review terminology and past events.

How to Read Battle Quests

1. Difficulty

There are 5 difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, Hard, Very Hard, and Hell. The harder the request, the better the potential rewards. Take on the highest level you can manage based on your team's strength.

2. Available Weeks

Requests are only available for a limited number of weeks. Be sure to complete any requests tied to objectives or valuable rewards before they expire.

3. Victory/Defeat Conditions

You can view victory and defeat conditions in advance. In some battles, these conditions may change mid-battle.

4. Clear Rewards

You can preview all the rewards for clearing a request. These include not only materials and Gear but also Skill Insights and upgrades for your facilities, so prioritize requests that offer what you need most.

Battles Related to Objectives are Important

Completing objectives is critical to advancing the story. Focus on requests that display a shield-shaped icon in the bottom-right corner of the request entry.

Get Items from Dispatch Requests

Dispatch Requests let you earn items continuously by assigning characters who meet the conditions. Once a character's Stamina runs out, the Dispatch will end, and you’ll need to restart it manually.

Restore Stamina at the Haven

You can "Rest," which restores the Stamina of a character who rests for one week. Note that you cannot perform this in parallel with requests or training during the same week.

Enhance Characters at the Training Ground

You can enhance characters at the Training Ground. Various training types are available, each requiring a different number of weeks.

Types of Training

Recruit Characters at the Tavern

You can recruit characters by spending funds. You can check their initial Skills and Level, so actively recruit those needed for requests. The lineup refreshes approximately every 4 weeks.

Acquire Gear at the Forge

You can craft Gear by consuming materials and funds. Gear is valuable in the Spiral of Destinies, so make use of this facility if you have surplus materials.

Adjust Tactical Skills the Luxite Workshop

You can perform "Field Research" and "Research Upgrades" within the Workshop. Complete Field Research to collect Luxite Extracts, which can then be used in Research Upgrades to acquire and enhance your Tactical Skills.

Field Research

Completing missions from Beryl rewards you with Luxite Extract, which is used to acquire and enhance Tactical Skills.

Research Upgrades

By spending Luxite Extract, you can level up effects related to Tactical Skills. Using a certain amount of Luxite Extract will increase Beryl's Research Level, enabling you to acquire even more powerful Tactical Skills.

Receive Buffs at the Sanctuary

Perform Rituals to receive Blessings that enhance specific characters for a certain number of weeks. You'll be presented with three random buffs and can choose only one.

Events Can Also Occur at Various Facilities

When "Treasure Chests" or "Speech Bubbles" appear at facilities on the map, it means a merchant has arrived or a conversation is available. You may receive items or funds, so be sure to visit.

Spiral of Destinies Tips and Tricks

Follow Instructions to Progress Fast

In general, the Spiral of Destinies progresses weekly by following the instructions displayed in the bottom right corner of the screen. However, note that facilities are sometimes ignored and may go unused if you don't pay attention.

Stamina Management is Important

Characters have "Stamina," which decreases when performing tasks like requests or training. Once Stamina hits 0%, the character becomes unusable. Restore Stamina as needed by not sending them on requests or letting them rest at the Haven.

Acquired Gear is Not Equipped Automatically

Gear obtained from request rewards or the Forge is not equipped automatically. When you acquire new Gear, make sure to equip it on the character enhancement screen.

Customize the Spiral with Beacons

Beacons allow the player to select a unique starting point within the Spiral, and also influences the direction in which the story will flow. Beacons are obtained after reaching specific endings and also from events.

Benefits of Beacons

Depending on the type of Beacon, you may receive effects that increase reputation gains with specific factions and characters. Some Beacons are essential for unlocking specific endings, so choose a Beacon according to your goals.

Spiral of Destinies Rewards

Various Knowledge Level Rewards

After finishing a certain number of weeks in the Spiral of Destinies, you can earn 'Knowledge Points' based on your gameplay. By collecting 'Knowledge Points', your 'Knowledge Level' will increase, allowing you to obtain Hope Luxites, enhancement items, Gear, and more.

Unlock Astral Nodes to Aid Future Runs

By progressing to the end of the story and achieving an ending, you can obtain 'Astral Tears'. By consuming 'Astral Tears', you can unlock 'Astral Nodes', which provide various effects in subsequent Spiral of Destinies runs.

Unlock Augments

Among the Astral Nodes, there are also enhancements called 'Augments'. There is a limit to the number of Augments you can bring, so decide which ones to bring based on your objective.

How to Increase Augment Slots

By unlocking the Astral Node 'Shaping Destiny', the number of Augments you can bring will increase.

What is the Spiral of Destinies?

An Independent Story

The Spiral of Destinies is a story entirely separate from content such as Crossing Worlds and The Fool's Journey. It takes a fair amount of time to reach an ending, and its true appeal lies in the ability to experience various endings based on your choices.

Requires Keys of Destiny

To challenge the Spiral of Destinies, you'll need a "Key of Destiny," and you’ll typically require around 6–7 of them to play through all the way to an ending. You can acquire Keys of Destiny from login bonuses, event rewards, and the Shop.

How to Unlock Spiral of Destinies

The Spiral of Destinies unlocks after clearing Stage 0-7 of The Fool's Journey.

Early Game Guide and Beginner Tips

Related to Fool's Journey

In the Spiral of Destinies, the protagonist aligns with a specific faction, and the story develops around key figures within that group. Each chapter of The Fool’s Journey builds up the events and emotions that lead into the Spiral of Destinies, so playing both enhances your understanding of the story.
