Prioritize One-on-One Combat

When surrounded, it's easy to keep taking hits even when using Guard or Dodge, so try to fight one-on-one. Target isolated enemies first using deathblows to thin the group.
Dodge/Guard Before Counterattacking

Let opponents attack first, then evade with Dodge or block with Guard before counterattacking. Combine Guard with immediate Counterattack for efficiency.

Use Bushes for Surprise Attacks

Approach via nearby Bushes by moving slowly to stay undetected. Crouching may reduce detection further (under investigation). Ideal for ambushes.
Proactively Use Deathblows

Fill the Rage Gauge through enemy hits. Deathblows offer powerful damage output and ranged attacks, making them excellent proactive tools.
How to Deal with Each Enemy
Enemy Types and Strategies
| Enemy Type | How to Deal with Them |
| Ripper Type | - Exploit slow movement with preemptive strikes - Prioritize other enemies at range - Watch out for Guard Breaks |
| Wheeler Type | - Dodge their charge attacks - Counterattack their spin attacks - Note their wide detection range |
| Pseudo Type | - Eliminate one immediately if paired - Counterattack jump and spin attacks |
| Avian Type | - Prioritize over other enemies - Dash to close distance before they flee - Dodge sideways to avoid projectiles |
| Lurky Hollow | - Attack after their attack finishes - Use guard breaks when it hides in its shell - Use ranged deathblows from a distance |
| Tormented Toll | - Knock down with Deathblows - Prioritize destroying their exoskeleton - Retreat to heal if endangered |
| Humanoid and Yotsuyama | - Counterattack with normal attacks - Use Fireworks Shooter for kiting - Greatsword normal attacks are effective |
| Dreamcraver | - Use ranged deathblows - Use Fireworks Shooter for kiting - Retreat to heal if endangered |
Ripper Type Combat Tips
Engage Ripper Types by closing distance quickly and attacking first. They are slow, allowing you to land the first strike even after they begin moving.
Wheeler Type Combat Tips
Ambush unalerted Wheeler Types by closing distance rapidly. If detected, evade their charge with a sideways Dodge to create a vulnerability, then pursue and attack.
Pseudo Type Combat Tips
Ambush unalerted Pseudo Types by closing in. They frequently travel in pairs, use Wheel Blade Deathblows to eliminate one quickly, or Katana Deathblows to defeat both at close range.
Avian Type Combat Tips
Avian Types counter with projectile attacks when alerted, so evade sideways, then close in. They may retreat to other enemies, so chase and defeat them quickly. Move away immediately after defeating them to avoid their explosive death.
Lurky Hollow Combat Tips
Lurky Hollows are easy to deal with if you use ranged Deathblows from the Wheel Blade or Hammer. For Normal Attacks, close in quickly, attack twice, then use a Guard Break to strike as it hides its face.
Tormented Toll Combat Tips
Tormented Tolls have hard to evade wide-range attacks. Use an opening Deathblow to flinch it, then follow with additional Deathblows or Normal Attacks to destroy its Exoskeleton. Retreat and heal if low health.
Humanoid and Yotsuyama Combat Tips
They frequently guard, so Guard Breaks are effective. Greatsword Normal Attacks are safe (no counterattack if guarded). Kiting with Fireworks Shooter Normal Attacks or ranged Guard Breaks (e.g., Katana x Fireworks Shooter combo) also works.
Dreamcraver Combat Tips
Their attacks are powerful, so evade before counterattacking. Their slow movement allows safe kiting with the Fireworks Shooter (though time-consuming). Ranged Guard Breaks also work. Dash away to heal if low health.
