David

This is a beginner-friendly guide to David in Fate/Grand Order (English). It breaks down what makes David strong, his basic stats, skills, and Noble Phantasm, plus the Ascension and skill-up materials you'll need to raise them.

David's Basic Information

David's Strengths

Low-Rarity AoE Evasion

David is a low-rarity Servant with a valuable party-wide Evasion skill. He can be obtained from both the Saint Quartz and Friend Point Summons, making him an excellent countermeasure against AoE Noble Phantasms in the early game.

Evasion is a 1-Time Effect

David's Evasion skill has no turn limit and blocks one enemy attack as long as the buff is not removed. However, unlike turn-based Evasion, it cannot block a second attack within the same turn.

Unlocked After First Ascension

The Evasion skill is unlocked at his first Ascension. Additionally, since leveling the skill only increases the amount of HP recovered, there's no need to level it up if you only need the Evasion effect.

Tip	While letting a friend's attacker handle the damage, use David's skill to keep them protected.

Has a Great Party-Wide ATK Buff

In addition to his party-wide Evasion, he also has a valuable party-wide ATK Up skill. It's worth leveling this skill, as it provides a great buff that strengthens the entire party for 3 turns.

Can Be a Powerful Attacker

While his skills are support-oriented, his Noble Phantasm is for a single-target Arts Attacker. Since it has a Sure-Hit effect, it can deal damage even if the enemy has Evasion active. With proper investment, he can become a powerful attacker.

Deals Extremely High Damage to Giant Enemies

After his NP upgrade, a "Special Attack [Giant]" effect is added. This allows him to deal extremely high damage against large humanoid enemies, such as the Giant Trait enemies that appear in Lostbelt 2: Götterdämmerung.

Servants with Good Synergy

Compatible Attackers
	Gilgamesh (★5) An offense-focused attacker whose lack of defensive options can be covered by David. His two Arts cards also make it easy to form Arts chains.
	Tristan (★4) Like David, he can grant a party-wide Evade. Alternating their skills allows you to reliably counter enemy NPs.
Compatible Supporters
	Merlin (★5) He provides AoE Invincibility, making it easier to deal with enemy NPs. He can also grant an ATK buff and a high-multiplier Buster buff to boost David's damage.
	Altria Caster (★5) A supporter who provides a high-multiplier Arts buff and up to a 50% NP charge. Since her NP can protect the whole party, David's Evade serves as an excellent backup for turns when her NP isn't ready.
	Jeanne d'Arc (★5) A Ruler who can grant party-wide Invincibility with her NP. While Jeanne is the primary way to handle enemy NPs, David's Evade provides a reliable safety net for when she can't use her NP in time.
	Tamamo-no-Mae (Caster) (★5) A powerful strategy is to delay enemy NPs with her charge reduction while using her NP's cooldown reduction to refresh David's Evade skill. Her NP also provides NP charge and HP recovery, making her a great fit for high-difficulty content.
	Zhuge Liang (Lord El-Melloi II) (★5) He has multiple skills to charge NP gauges, making it easier for David to use his NP. He also provides AoE DEF buffs, which helps compensate for David's relatively low HP.
	Hans Christian Andersen (★2) He provides passive NP and Critical Star generation each turn, which synergizes well with David's kit. His NP's guaranteed HP recovery and chance-based ATK/DEF buffs are also excellent, making him a highly recommended low-rarity supporter.

Recommended Skill Leveling by Priority

Skill 1	Priority: ★☆☆ You can boost the HP recovery multiplier. Leveling improves survivability a little, and the cooldown reduction from leveling makes reusing the high-multiplier DEF Up easier. For farming purposes leaving it unleveled is fine.
