Leonidas I

This is a beginner-friendly guide to Leonidas I in Fate/Grand Order (English). It breaks down what makes Leonidas I strong, his basic stats, skills, and Noble Phantasm, plus the Ascension and skill-up materials you'll need to raise them.

Leonidas I's Strengths

Has Two Target Focus Sources

Leonidas is a Target Focus (Taunt) tank specialist who can also provide a Buster Effectiveness Up buff for teammates. In addition, his Noble Phantasm grants a Defense Up buff and he has a Guts skill that revives him with 5000 HP, making him excellent at soaking up damage.

Effective Even at Level 1

Leonidas's Skill 1 gives him a 1-turn Target Focus buff. Since it's available at Level 1, he can be used as a sacrificial tank on the first turn.

Tip!	In Fate/Grand Order, if an ally is defeated midway through the enemy's attack phase, the enemy's turn ends immediately. This mechanic can be used to protect key team members by using a sacrificial tank.

Great at Utilizing Enemy Attacks for NP Gain

Leonidas's Skill 1 also grants him an NP Gain Up buff. Since Servants gain NP gauge when attacked, this buff synergizes well with his Target Focus, allowing him to charge his NP quickly.

Noble Phantasm Provides a DEF Up Buff

Leonidas's Noble Phantasm provides a DEF Up buff that scales with his Overcharge level. Starting at a 30% base multiplier, it can increase up to 50%. Combined with other defensive supports, it's possible to mitigate all incoming damage.

Provides ATK and Buster Effectiveness Buffs

Leonidas provides a teamwide Buster Effectiveness buff with his Skill 3. His Skill 2 grants an ATK Up buff that activates after his Guts is triggered. While the multipliers aren't particularly high at 20%, these buffs are a welcome addition to his tanking utility.

Provides Critical Hit Support via Noble Phantasm

Leonidas's Noble Phantasm also generates Critical Stars, with the amount scaling based on his NP Level. Since he is a ★2 Servant, it's easy to maximize his NP Level by summoning from the Friend Point banner.

	Morgan (★5) Her skill lowers enemy ATK and her NP raises the party's Overcharge level, both of which boost Leonidas I's survivability. She also has a Critical Strength and Star Concentration buff, allowing her to make effective use of the Critical Stars he generates.
	Ereshkigal (★5) She can increase the party's Max HP and DEF, boosting Leonidas I's durability. She also provides an NP Gain buff, making it easier for him to use his NP.
	Bedivere (★3) He can increase the party's DEF, boosting Leonidas I's survivability. His NP Gain buff also makes it easier for allies to use their NPs.
Compatible Supporters
	Merlin (★5) His skill grants party-wide Invincibility, which covers the AoE attacks that Leonidas I cannot block alone. His NP also provides HP recovery over several turns, greatly enhancing Leonidas's ability to stay on the field.
	Jeanne d'Arc (★5) A supporter whose NP grants HP recovery and party-wide Invincibility. As a Ruler, she has high durability, making her a great choice for survival-focused teams.
	Altria Caster (★5) The Anti-Purge Defense from her NP is extremely valuable for survival-focused parties. She also provides a 50% NP charge and an NP Gain buff, which are excellent for helping Leonidas activate his NP.
	Zhuge Liang (Lord El-Melloi II) (★5) He can reduce enemy NP charge and provide party-wide DEF buffs, increasing Leonidas's survivability while delaying enemy NPs. His ability to provide a 50% NP charge is also excellent for helping Leonidas use his NP.
	Mash Kyrielight (★3-★4) She provides DEF buffs with both her skills and NP. Stacking these with Leonidas's own buffs can potentially reduce incoming damage to zero.
	Hans Christian Andersen (★2) One of his skills grants passive Critical Star and NP generation each turn. His NP provides HP recovery and has a chance to grant ATK/DEF buffs, supporting the team both offensively and defensively.

Recommended Skill Leveling by Priority

Skill 1	Priority: ★★☆ You can boost the NP Gain Up multiplier. It makes NP gain easier, so level it after the damage-boosting skills.
Skill 2	Priority: ★☆☆ You can boost the Guts recovery amount. If leveled, the cooldown reduction makes reusing Guts easier, improving survivability.
Skill 3	Priority: ★★★ You can boost the AoE Buster Up multiplier. Since it boosts the whole team's damage, level it first.
