Best Ways to Farm Materials
Prioritize Progressing Through the Main Story Quests
Your initial goal should be to progress through the Main Story to unlock events. Each event has different story progression requirements, so if you cannot join a current event, it is recommended to focus on the main story first.
By progressing in the quest, players can get Pure Prisms that can be exchanged for specific skill materials. Some materials for skill leveling also drop from specific quests.
Exchange for Materials in the Pure Prism Shop
You can also exchange Pure Prisms for materials in the shop. All materials are available here except for Crystallized Lores, and newly added ones will become available after a certain period. However, there is an exchange limit of 100 pieces per material.
Farming via Events is Highly Recommended

Limited-time events are a great source of materials, which you can get by completing the event story and obtaining them from the event shop. Lottery and Raid events in particular offer more materials and have no exchange limit compared to usual events. This is the most effective way to farm materials.
Farm Free Quests for Specific Materials
While events provide a large quantity of materials, the specific items you need may not always be available. If you're looking for a particular material that isn't offered as an event reward, farming Free Quests is your best alternative.
Equip Craft Essences that Increase Material Drop Rates
Advanced Quests found in Chaldea Gate reward special Craft Essences (CE) that boost the drop rate for certain materials. However, not all materials have a corresponding drop rate CE. Advanced Quests are high-difficulty battles that require specific strategies to clear.
