About Side Missions In Borderlands 3

Quests That Deviate From the Main Story

Complete side quests in order to unlock special rewards and learn more about the world of Borderlands 3 outside of the main story. Side quests are separate from the main story so doing them won't affect your progress in the main story.

Rewards You With Useful Loot

Despite not progressing the main story, Side Missions will reward you with useful loot! These rewards are usually strong weapons that will make your journey much easier!

How to Trigger Side Missions

There are a number of ways you can trigger Side Missions while exploring the different planets in Borderlands 3:

Talk to NPCs

Characters that have a side quest for you will show up on your HUD with an exclamation point. Talking to the NPC will immediately trigger the side quest.

Turn In To Collect Rewards

Once you've completed all of the objectives of the mission, return to the NPC quest giver and talk to them. This will complete the mission and allow you to collect your rewards!
