About Choosing Group Mode

One Of First Choices When Starting The Game

Group Mode can be chosen when you first start the game. You'll get this choice right after choosing your difficulty mode.

Can Be Switched Mid-Game

Can Be Switched Mid-Game

Players can switch between Cooperation & Coopetition Group Modes in the middle of the game. Make sure to tweak this mode when you're playing solo or multiplayer.

Pros & Cons Of Cooperation Group Mode

Pros & Cons Of Cooperation Group Mode

Loot Drops Are Unique Per Vault Hunter

In Cooperation, loot drops are "instanced" and will be unique per Vault Hunter. This means that loot is not shared between players and the random factor only affects you.

Recommended For Solo Or Playing With PUGs

Cooperation is recommended when playing solo mode as you really won't share loot with other players. It's also recommended for online multiplayer so players you're in a match with won't be able to steal or hog any of the loot.

Can Play With Players Of Other Levels

In Cooperation Group Mode, you're not level locked when it comes to multiplayer. You can play with anyone of any level at any time. However, take note that matches are locked to the level of the player who is hosting.

Pros & Cons Of Coopetition Group Mode

Pros & Cons Of Coopetition Group Mode

Loot Drops Are Shared Between Players

In Coopetition, loot is shared between all players in the same match. They are free to see what kind of loot has dropped and also free to pick whichever they want. Therefore, coordination & communication is key.

Recommended When Playing With Friends

This Group Mode is highly recommended when playing with friends. This way, coordination isn't done between strangers and players will be more comfortable talking about who gets what loot. This is also great in helping boost up friends who need better gear.

Can Up Drop Rarity In Multiplayer

When playing in multiplayer, the rarity of drops goes up. And if you play with a friend whose level is higher than yours, the loot levels will scale to that player's level. Sharing loot will make it easier for everyone to get geared better & faster.

Cooperation enemies are scaled to everyones level so if there is a level 15 and 30 playing Graveward it will be both levels at the same time and not affecting either player in a negative or positive wa, loot can scale up like broken hearts events or a DLC.
