| 1 | After watching the opening scene, follow Claptrap & complete his tutorial |
| 2 | Head to the right side and pull the lever open the blockade |
| 3 | Keep following Claptrap until he gives you your first weapon |
| 4 | Complete the cutscene and clear the first area of enemies |
| 5 | Head into the 2nd area and defeat all enemies here |
| 6 | Follow the marker to get your first Shield |
| 7 | Head into the center of the base to face off with Shiv |
| 8 | After defeating Shiv, head upstairs to release Claptrap from the magnet |
| 9 | Wait for Lilith to arrive and then talk to her to finish the mission |
4-5. Clear Area Of Enemies
Pick Up Red Drops To Keep Your Health Up
If you're low on health, you can pick up red drops to bring up your health bar. This will prevent you from going into "Fight For Your Life" and/or losing money that you've collected.
Open Loot Boxes To Get Ammo & Health
Enemies are bullet sponges in this game and you will find yourself running out of health and ammo pretty fast. Search any area and open loot boxes to get ammo and health.
6. Climb Up To Get Chest With Shield
Shields are integral in this game so make sure to grab your first Shield in the 2nd area of this mission. You need to head left and climb up to find the Chest.
7. Shiv Is First Boss Of The Game
Shiv will be your first foray into Borderlands 3 bosses. He's a faster Psycho that does damage with his oversized knife. He has a long HP bar and several strong moves that can hurt you if you're not careful.

Jump Or Slide Away From Forward Shockwave
When Shiv jumps, prepare to jump away from his ground shockwave. You can also slide dash away to keep from getting damage.
Gets Tired After Flurry Of Attacks
When Shiv attacks you with a flurry of strikes, he'll pause and get tired. This makes him open for critical shots.
Keep Mobile To Avoid Getting Hit
In this fight, it's important to keep mobile. Shiv does a lot of static attacks after chasing you around so if you keep mobile and bait him, you'll get a lot of openings to attack him.
