Sheikah Sensor Effects And Uses

Select Search Target
Press the Y button on the map screen, and select the target you're looking for from the "Select from the Hyrule Compendium" and "Shrines".
Only Items That Have Already Been Registered In The Hyrule Compendium.
The "Select from the Compendium" option only allows you to search for items that have already been registered in the Hyrule Compendium. Therefore, use Camera to register the object in the Compendium in advance.
Sensor Reacts When A Shrine Is Nearby
Link's Direction Is Important
When Link points in the direction of the target, it will show a large reaction, you should move forward in the direction of the reaction. Also, note that it reacts in the direction in which Link is facing and not the direction of the camera.
Change Direction When The Signal Weakens
If the signal weakens while you are moving forward, then you might be heading the wrong way. Move around to see if there is another direction that shows a larger reaction.
Check If There Is A Road Below
When searching for an object, the sensor may suddenly stop responding. There may be roads above or below you, and the object may be ahead of you. If you cannot find it, check your surroundings.
Can Be Used To Find Materials And Treasure Chests

Searching from the Hyrule Compendium is convenient when searching for materials that are not enough. It is also useful for searching for treasure chests in shrines if registered. Take as many pictures as you can so that you can always find what you want.
You Can Disable It If You Don't Use It
If you don't want to use it, you can turn it off by selecting OFF. However, since you can find shrines and materials while passing by, it is recommended to leave it on.
