Create Ice Pillars On The Surface Of Water
Using Cryonis toward the surface of water, you can create ice pillars. You can climb them as footholds and lift fences with them.
Can Be Made On Brown Water
Cryonis can be used anywhere as long as there is water. Ice pillars can be made even on brown water like a swamp.
Can Be Made Horizontally
You can create horizontal ice pillars on waterfalls. There are situations where it is used to solve gimmicks such as shrines.
Can't Make It If The Pillars Don't Show Up
Ice pillars can be made only where the pillar is shown fully extended. If there is no square space, it will not show up in a pillar and you will not be able to make it.
The Ice Pillar Can Be Broken By Selecting It Again
If you want to break an ice pillar you made, you can do so by selecting it again with the A button. The maximum number of ice pillars that can be made is three, if you want make fourth one or more, the oldest one needs to be destroyed.
Diving From The Bottom Will Break It
When you dive into the water, if you go directly under the ice pillar, it will break when it comes to the surface. Be careful not to accidentally destroy it when using it as a foothold.
Can Be Destroyed By Ancient Weapons
Other than the above, the ice pillars can be broken by Ancient Weapons such as Guardian Sword. It cannot be destroyed by normal weapons.
When & Where To Use Cryonis
Lift Guardians And Others
You can lift the heavy objects such as Guardian by creating ice pillars. And it is able to get more materials by lifting rather than examining them, use this way if you are near water.
Use When There Is No High Platform Around
When fighting near water, if there is no high platform around, you can use ice pillars. And you're able to shoot an arrow in slow motion if you jump from an ice pillar.
Take The Treasure Chest Out Of The Water
Ice pillars can also be created from under a floating treasure chest or other items on the surface of water. It can be used when there is a floating wooden box that cannot be grabbed by Magnesis.
Create Walls To Protect Yourself From Enemies
The ice pillars can be used as walls to prevent enemy attacks. It is also possible to hide from enemies when they spot you.
