The Game Allows The Player To Lower The Difficulty Level Upon Game Over
It is possible to change the difficulty to Assisted when the game is over in Standard. However, after changing the difficulty to Assisted, it cannot be changed back to Standard again.

Rewards Are Unlocked According To The Difficulty Level
Some quests can only be unlocked by clearing them on a particular difficulty level. For example, to acquire Ashley's armor, which was also featured in the previous game, the player must clear the quest with an A Rank on hardcore difficulty or higher.
There Is A Clear Rank Reward
Depending on the difficulty level, you can get a Bonus Weapon as a clear rank achievement reward. The highest is S+ Rank, and it's not easy to get S+ Rank on Professional difficulty. It is necessary to make multiple rounds in the game to modify weapons and accessories along the way.
