How To Melee

You Can Melee When The Icon Appears Above The Enemy

When an enemy is stunned, a button icon will appear above him. If you get close and press the button, you can attack the enemy with Melee (Physical Attacks) and inflict damage.

Can Be Used For Crowd Control

If you perform Melee successfully when being surrounded by enemies, the surrounding enemies will be blown away at once. This creates an opportunity, allowing you to attack them or escape.

Melee Differs Depending On The Way The Enemy Is Stunned

There are three types of Melee, and which one can be performed depends on the way the enemy is stunned. The basic Melee is using a Roundhouse Kick, and if there is room to turn around, you can aim for a Back Throw.

Roundhouse Kick

This can be performed when an enemy is stunned while standing. It is effective when you are surrounded because it can attack multiple enemies at once.

Front Kick

When an enemy crouches down, you can perform a Front Kick by pressing the button from the front. This is effective when enemies are lined up in a row, as the enemy will be blown away vertically.

Back Throw

This can be done only when the enemy is crouching and you perform Melee from behind. But if you make it, the enemy might be defeated with a single blow.

Requirements For Melee

List of Requirements for Melee

  1. Hit the enemy's leg
  2. Hit the enemy's head
  3. Parry at perfect timing
  4. Use a Pulse Grenade

Hit The Enemy's Leg

When your shot hits an enemy's leg, the enemy will crouch down and you will be able to do a Melee attack. This is recommended because the wide target makes it easy to hit and damage the enemy without stunning him.

Hit On The Enemy's Head

If your shot hits the enemy's head, he will be greatly stunned, which allows you to perform a Melee. However, be aware that the enemy may crouch or move to the side.

Parry At Perfect Timing

When you parry at perfect timing, a Melee icon will appear. It takes some practice to get used to it, as you have to hold the knife in time with the enemy's attacking movement.

How To Parry Attacks

Use A Pulse Grenade

The Pulse Grenade can be used to stun many enemies. Since it may allow you to perform Melee in succession, it is an effective means of crowd control.
