How To Repair Knife
Repair It With The Merchant
In RE4, the combat knife has a durability value that decreases in each use and will be rendered unusable once the value reaches to 0. The durability value will be restored once you repair it with the Merchant.

Requires Money
You need to use money to pay for Knife Repairs. The lesser the durability, the more currency needed to repair.
Find The Merchant's Location
When the durability value of the knife reaches 0, parry and stealth kill actions are not possible. Make sure to know where the Merchant is in case of an emergency.
Only The Default Knife Can Be Repaired
The description in the official website states that you can only repair the default knife you acquired from the beginning of the game. Take note of it since there's no other information on other knives that you may acquire later.
How To Increase Knife Durability
Increase Durability With The Merchant
Check the Merchant to increase the durability level of your character's knife. Level 3 seems to be the maximum limit because there are three bars that can be seen.
Need Money For Upgrades
Money is needed to increase durability. 5000 Pesetas is required the first time, and more money may be required to raise to level 3.
