How to Use Misty

Use Before Attaching Energy From Zone

When using Misty, always use beforeAttach Energy from Zone. You can advance the match to your advantage by choosing which Pokemon to attach energy to depending on Misty's results.

Use on Pokemon With High Attack Damage.

  1. Articuno ex
  2. Lapras ex

Energy Acceleration is a powerful effect, but its actual strength depends on the strength of the Pokemon you use it on. The most effective it is when used on Pokemon with attacks that can deal high damage.

Pokemon With Options Are The Best

  1. Articuno ex
  2. Kingler

The ideal Pokemon to use is Pokémon that can use Attack even if it cannot do Energy Acceleration. It would be best if it could be used for Pokémon that have flexible options, such as having attacks that require different energy, or not evolving if no energy is attached.

Use It As Soon As Possible

It depends on the hand situation, but it is often a card that is more effective if used as early as possible in the game. Choosing between Misty or Professor's Research to use would be difficult, but if Misty can be used on the Pokemon mentioned above, it is better to use Misty first.

Energy Acceleration Only for Water Type Pokemon

Misty can only be used on Water-type Pokemon. Misty does not work on Pokemon even if the Pokemon requires Water Type Energy for Attack such as Dragonite.

Misty Pros and Cons

Valuable Energy Acceleration Effect

Misty's effect allows you to choose one of your Water Pokemon and attach Water Energy to it. Currently, Energy Acceleration options are limited, making this a very powerful effect.

Element Of Luck Involved

This effect requires flipping coins until you get tails, with each heads allowing you to attach a Water Energy. It’s important to keep in mind that this effect is still luck-based.

Works Well With Any Water Pokemon

Misty can provide Energy Acceleration to any Water Pokemon, making her a great choice for virtually any Water-type deck. Running two copies in a Water deck is generally a strong option.

Potential For A First Win By KO If Going First

While players can attack on the first turn when going first, it’s usually not possible to as there's no Energy available from teh Zone on that turn, so most Pokemon are unable to attack effectively.

However, since Supporters can still be used on the first turn, Misty’s Energy Acceleration effect can provide extra Energy. With luck on your side, you might even secure a victory on your first turn.
