Omastar Deck - Pros / Cons

  1. Omastar's Special Effect is Powerful
  2. Allows for Draw Engine Pokemon
  3. Difficult to Go Against Multiple Attackers

Omastar's Special Effect is Powerful

  1. Omastar

Omastar, the core of the deck, is a Pokemon with a powerful attack, Ancient Whirlpool. It can nullify opposing Pokemon's attacks, making it invulnerable even to the strongest attackers. This ability greatly enhances its strategic value, restricting opponents and establishing dominance in gameplay.

Allows for Draw Engine Pokemon

  1. Misty
  2. Meowth
  3. Chatot

Omastar is a Water Pokemon so you can use Misty for Energy Acceleration. It also doesn't require a lot of Energy so you will also be able to attach Energy to your Draw Engine Pokemon.

Difficult to Go Against Multiple Attackers

Omastar's attack suppression effect is only effective against one attacker. Therefore, if the opponent has two attackers, they can retreat the Pokemon whose attack is blocked and then attack with the one on the bench.

Omastar Deck Strategy

  1. Use High-Endurance Pokemon as Defensive Walls
  2. Maintain Board Advantage with Sabrina
  3. Prepare a Backup Omastar
Use High-Endurance Pokemon as Defensive Walls
  1. Lapras
  2. Kangaskhan
  3. Weezing

Omastar is a powerful Pokemon but challenging to summon, as Helix Fossil cannot be searched with Poke Ball. To buy time for its evolution, deploy high-endurance Pokemon as defensive walls.

Maintain Board Advantage with Sabrina
  1. Omastar
  2. Sabrina

Once Omastar is ready, move it to the Active Spot to attack. If the opponent retreats Omastar’s target to their Bench, use Sabrina to swap it back to the Active Spot and regain board control.

Prepare a Backup Omastar
  1. Helix Fossil
  2. Omanyte
  3. Omastar

To ensure continuity, prepare a backup Omastar. Building up Lapras with Energy for high-damage attacks is also a viable alternative.
