Clear Up To Main Mission 26
In order to catch Arceus, you need to clear up to Main Mission 26 of the story. Since the difficulty level is high, start the capture after having a good Pokemon team.

To meet Arceus, you need to catch 237 Pokemon, excluding Mythical Pokemon and Arceus. When you have completed the Pokedex, report it to Professor Laventon, and then use the "Azure Flute" at the Temple Of Sinnoh

If you cant find a Pokemon, it is also a good idea to register the Pokemon in the Pokedex by trading with other players.
Fight Arceus
The fight against Arceus is going to be lengthy and difficult. Arceus' judgement can automatically switch to the opponent's weakness ( type Legend Plate ).

The recommended nature to have for Arceus is Timid or Modest. Both natures decrease your Attack but Arceus has an amazing Special Attack move pool making it important for you to raise the Special Attack or Speed of Arceus.

Disable Autosave
Make sure to disable autosave before catching Arceus. Once you catch Arceus, the game will autosave and you will not be able to pick Arceus' nature.
Leave One Opening In Your Pokemon Team
If you capture a Pokemon while your Pokemon team is full, they will automatically be sent to the pasture. This makes it longer to check what Arceus' nature is instead of checking it right after catching it.
