What is the Safe Box?

A Slot to Bring Back Items In Case You Die

If you die during an Exploration, all items in your Backpack will be lost, but items placed in the Safe Box are protected and guaranteed to be brought back to your base. This feature is available from the start, so be sure to use it regularly.

Capacity Varies by Edition

Edition TypeSafe Box Capacity
StandardWeight 10
DeluxeWeight 20
UltimateWeight 35

The capacity of the Safe Box varies depending on which edition of the game you are playing. Higher-tier editions have a larger capacity, making it easier to bring back items.

Edition Differences and Best Edition to Buy

Items to Put in the Safe Box

Keep Useful Items for Future Explorations

The items you should place in your Safe Box are those that can be used in future Explorations or are guaranteed to be useful later.

Key to the Flesh Door

You'll want to bring back the Keys to enter beyond the Flesh Door, where it's easy to get good items, to use them in your next Exploration. All Keys have a Weight of 3, so you can easily put them in the Safe Box, even with the Standard Edition.

How to Use Door and Types

Blueprints

If you bring back Blueprints for equipment, you'll be able to permanently craft those gears using materials and a few Kill Coins. It's especially worth bringing back Blueprints for Weapons you like, so be sure to put them in your Safe Box. They all have a uniform Weight of 5.

Sellable Item

The more Kill Coins you have, which are used to expand Storage and purchase healing items, the smoother your Explorations will be. Therefore, you'll want to bring back Sellable Items, but the downside is that they are generally heavy, either not fitting in the Safe Box or taking up a lot of space if they do.

How to Farm Kill Coins

High-Rarity Weapons

High-Rarity Weapons are among the most important items, as they are likely to remain useful in future Explorations. However, like Sellable Items, they tend to be heavy. In some cases, you may not be able to place them in the Safe Box unless you have the Deluxe Edition or higher.
