1 Keep your distance during the fight
2 Its weak spot appears on its back after dealing a certain amount of damage. Make sure to hit it.

Fight From A Distance

El Gigante will attack by striking or stepping in a straight line. You need to keep your distance from it to avoid getting hit, so move away from the enemy while attacking. Take note of its movements while doing it!

Be Careful In Which Direction You Run

The obstracles around the area that may prevent you from running away from El Gigante.. Make sure there are no obstacles in the direction you are running.

Get The Red9 Hangun

During Chapter 4, you can get the Red9 Handgun from the center of the Lake. It is a very powerful handgun available in the early stage and no need to buy from the Merchant. It is recommended to use against El Gigante since there are a lot of hangun ammo around the area where you fight it.

Weak Spot Appears After Dealing Damage To It

When you deal a certain amount of damage to El Gigante, a tentacle will appear on its back. This is its weak point so be aggressive in attacking it.

Attacking With A Rifle Is Recommended

When its weak spot appears, it is recommended to shoot at it with the SR M1903 Rifle since it does 3x damage to weak spots. In Standard Difficulty, you can defeat El Gigante in 5 shots with the SR M1903 Rifle, even without weapon upgrades. If you have enough ammo, you should do this since it is faster than using melee.

Flash Grenades Are Effective When Its Tentacle Comes Out

Throwing a Flash Grenade when the tentacle is out will bring down El Gigante. Keep this in mind since it will give you an opening to deal a ton of damage.

When The Boss Kneels, Approach & Use Melee

When the boss kneels, you can climb on its back and melee the tentacle. Since it is easy to aim at its weak point, you can hit the boss once with a handgun, then climb on its back and melee it for more damage. You can also save ammo by not using a gun.

Collect The Items From The Shed Quickly

In the battle against El Gigante, you will find ammo and recovery items in the shed around the area. If you stay in the shed too long, El Gigante will lift it up and throw it at you. It will deal quite the damage, so leave quickly after obtaining the item.

The Dog You Save In Chapter 3 Will Come To Help

When you leave the Village Chief's Manor after the start of Chapter 3, you will find a dog trapped in a Bear Trap. If you rescue the dog, it will appear in the battle against El Gigante and draw the attention from you.
