Legacy Fortress Location

Legacy Fortress Location

Legacy Fortress is located in the upper left of the map, in the D2 area. The Legacy Fortress is always at the same place and does not change its location each game.

There are a few steps you need to take to enter the Legacy Fortress. See the walkthrough below.

How To Enter Legacy Fortress
  1. Obtain a Stronghold Keycard from a cache in a Mercenary Camp.
  2. Go to a Mercenary Stronghold and use the Stronghold Keycard you got at the Camp to unlock the door.
Clear the area of the mercenaries and obtain the Fortress Keycard from the safe.
  3. Head to the Legacy Fortress and use the Fortress Keycard you got at the Stronghold to unlock the door.

Clear A Merc Camp

Merc Camp Location

Mercenary Camp Icon

Look for the symbol above on the map and head to that location.

Eliminate All Mercenaries

There are about 10 mercenaries at a Merc Camp, and you will see an "Activity Complete" message pop up once you defeat them all.

Get Stronghold Keycard From The Cache

Stronghold Keycard Cache

You will find a cache with the Stronghold Keycard somewhere in the camp. You will need it to enter the Stronghold in the next step.

Clear A Mercenary Stronghold

Mercenary Stronghold Location

Mercenary Stronghold Icon

Look for the symbol above on the map and head to that location. Use the Stronghold Keycard you got earlier to get inside.

Watch Out For Shield Soldiers

Shield Soldier

There is at least one Shield Soldier in a Merc Stronghold. You can shoot his legs or go around him to shoot him, but it still may be difficult to defeat him if you're solo. You can easily defeat him by throwing a Semtec at him, so bring those if you can.

Get Fortress Keycard From The Safe

Safe

Once you defeat all the mercenaries inside, you can start drilling the safe. The safe is usually on the second floor.

A helicopter with reinforcements will arrive once you start drilling the safe. The easiest way to defeat them is to shoot them as they drop from the helicopter. Once the safe is open, you can retreive the Fortress Keycard.

Defeat Warlord

Preparing For Legacy Fortress

  • Pack-a-Punch your weapon to Level 1 or 2
  • Buy lots of armor (About 10 plates)
  • Bring a Self-Revive Kit
  • RGL-80 or The Scorcher is effective against the Legacy

1. Enter The Legacy Fortress With A Car

Enter The Legacy Fortress With A Car

Head to the Legacy Fortress in a car and take the safest route, which is going in from the bottom right as shown in the image above. The green building you see on your right as soon as you enter is the Legacy Fortress.

Enter The Building Before Helicopter Arrives

The biggest threat is the Attack Helo. If you take too long, they will arrive and start attacking you. They are very powerful and take many hits to take down even with an upgraded weapon. So run into the building before they even start attacking. They will disappear once you defeat the Warlord.

2. Go To The North Side And Unlock The Door

Go To The North Side And Unlock The Door

Once you enter the area in a car, head upwards on the map and enter the Legacy Fortress from the north side. If you go in from the south side (close to where you parked your car) there will be many soldiers around you and in the room you enter, but the north door will have less soldiers you need to deal with.

Inside there are more soldiers, including Shield Soldiers. The soldiers outside will also try to come in, so don't let your guard down.

Grenades And Launchers Are Disabled

Trophy System

There is a Trophy System on the 1st floor, so grenades and launchers won't detonate even if you use it unless you destroy it.

3. Go Up To The 2nd Floor

Better To Leave The Suppression Mine

Suppression Mine

There is a Suppression Mine in front of the stairs which blocks your view and slows you down. It may be annoying buy you shouldn't destroy it and instead just leave it there.

By leaving the Suppression Mine there, you can stop the reinforcements from coming inside to attack you.

Defuse The Trap At The Top Of The Stairs

Defuse The Trap At The Top Of The Stairs

You will find a trap at the top of the stairs, so carefully defuse it.

Defeat 3 Enemies On The 2nd Floor And Defuse The Trap

1st Enemy

1st Enemy

You will find the first enemy if you look a bit to the right from where you defused the trap. Defeat him first.

Destroy The Suppression Mine And Defeat The Remaining 2 Enemies

Suppression Mine

Look further to the right after you defeat the 1st enemy and you will find a Suppression Mine, destroy it.

Behind the Suppression Mine, on the other side of the desk, there are 2 more enemies to defeat.

Defuse Trap In Front Of The Door

Defuse Trap In Front Of The Door

There is another trap in front of the door, so defuse this one too.

If you can't defuse the trap because there is a weapon in front of the door, pick up the weapon first, then defuse the bomb. You can drop the weapon once the bomb is defused.

5. Defeat Legacy And The Other 4 Mercenaries

Big window

You will find a large window as seen in the image above once you go through the door. The Legacy is waiting there with 4 other soldiers. Try to defeat them from behind this window. Take cover there or go back to the room behind you if you lose too much health.

Legacy Often Takes Cover

Legacy Often Takes Cover

Legacy often takes cover in the room so it will be difficult to deal damage to him. But you will receive serious damage from his shotgun if you get too close, so using a RGL-80 or The Scorcher to safely hit him when he is hiding behind the wall is an easy strategy.

Reinforcements Will Arrive After A While

If you take too much time fighting the Legacy, a Shield Soldier and 2 Elite Soldiers will appear from the room behind the Legacy. The Shield Soldier will come towards you aggresively, so it will help if you leave 1 grenade such as a Semtec for this situation.

Reinforcements Will Come From Outside Without The Suppression Mine

If the Suppresion Mine on the first floor in front of the stairs has been destroyed, reinforcements will continue to come up from the 1st floor.

You Can Also Charge Inside The Boss Room But Beware The Traps

There are 2 Trophy Systems and 2 Suppression Mines in the room where the Legacy is. Be careful of those if you choose to charge inside.

6. Collect The Rewards

legacy reward

The Legacy will drop a quest item, Strauss's Research, if you are on the Storm the Castle mission and you will find a Blueprint called the Tactical Negotiator in the Reward Rift.
