Settings Are Carried Over
Settings From MW2 Carries Over
All settings can be carried over from past series MW2 (Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2) to MW3 so if you played MW2 you will not need to adjust your settings again in MW3.
Adjust Interface Settings
Interface Settings are important settings that could affect gameplay. Most of the settings are personal preference but some settings can be adjusted to further maximize your performance.

Mini Map Shape Square
Set the Mini Map Shape to Square which displays a wider range of area than Round shape Mini Map. If you don't have a preference choose Square shape Mini Map.
Mini Map Rotation: On
Turn on Mini Map Rotation to rotate the map according to the direction you're facing. If you don't have any preference turn Mini Map Rotation: ON so the map is more intuitive to look at.
Horizontal Compass: On
Make sure to have Horizontal Compass: ON especially if you're playing with a microphone to communicate specific directions.
Server Latency: On
Make sure to have Server Latency: ON to check your server response time. You want to choose a server that is under 80ms or you might experience some lag.
