Where Is Legacy Fortress?

Legacy Fortress Location

legacy fortress map location

The Legacy Fortress can be found in the North-Western area near the edge of the Orange Zone. It won't change its location so you won't have to worry about finding it every time.

How To Enter Legacy Fortress

Obtain Stronghold Keycard

obtaining stronghold keycard

First you will need to find the Stronghold Keycard that allows entrance to the Mercenary Stronghold. This can be found by engaging a Mercenary Convoy, which shows as 3 red armored trucks on the map, or a Mercenary Camp. Either one of the soldiers will drop it or you will find it in a nearby cache.

How To Find and Destroy Mercenary Convoy

Obtain Legacy Keycard

obtaining legacy keycard

Once you have the Mercenary Keycard, head to the nearest Mercenary Stronghold and open the door with the Keycard. Eliminate all enemies in the area and you will find a Legacy Keycard.

Make Preparations

pack-a-punch weapon upgrade

There are many enemies with some tough armor and firepower, so be prepared before you go to the Legacy Fortress. You will want to Pack-a-Punch your weapon at least once or twice, bring about 10 Armor Plates and at least 1 Self-Revive Kit.. Replenish your lethal/tactical equipment as well as your ammo, you will need everything for the upcoming fight.

Going Inside The Fortress

Go In From The South In A Car

entrance route to fortress

The safest route would be to go in from the south as shown in the image above. Once inside, get off the car, then go up to the north side of the Fortress to access the door. If you go in from the south side (close to where you parked your car) there will be a Shield Soldier waiting for you, but the north door leads to a small room with no one there.

Grenades And Launchers Are Disabled

Trophy System

There is a Trophy System on the 1st floor, so grenades and launchers won't detonate even if you use it unless you destroy it.

Go Up To The 2nd Floor

Better To Leave The Suppression Mine

mine trap by the stairs

There is a Suppression Mine in front of the stairs which blocks your view and slows you down. It may be annoying buy you shouldn't destroy it and instead just leave it there. By doing so, you can stop the reinforcements from coming inside to attack you.

Defuse The Trap At The Top Of The Stairs

trap at top of the stairs

You will find a trap at the top of the stairs, so carefully defuse it.

Defeat 3 Enemies On The 2nd Floor And Defuse The Trap

1st Enemy

1st Enemy

You will find the first enemy if you look a bit to the right from where you defused the trap. Defeat him first.

Destroy The Suppression Mine And Defeat The Remaining 2 Enemies

Suppression Mine

Look further to the right after you defeat the 1st enemy and you will find a Suppression Mine, destroy it.

Behind the Suppression Mine, on the other side of the desk, there are 2 more enemies to defeat.

Defuse Trap In Front Of The Door

Defuse Trap In Front Of The Door

There is another trap in front of the door, so defuse this one too.

If you can't defuse the trap because there is a weapon in front of the door, pick up the weapon first, then defuse the bomb. You can drop the weapon once the bomb is defused.

5. Defeat Legacy And The Other 4 Mercenaries

Big window

You will find a large window as seen in the image above once you go through the door. The Legacy is waiting there with 4 other soldiers. Try to defeat them from behind this window. Take cover there or go back to the room behind you if you lose too much health.

Legacy Often Takes Cover

Legacy Often Takes Cover

Legacy often takes cover in the room so it will be difficult to deal damage to him. But you will receive serious damage from his shotgun if you get too close, so using a RGL-80, which has a wide range and shooting from behind the window is the easiest strategy.

Reinforcements Will Arrive After A While

If you take too much time fighting the Legacy, a Shield Soldier and 2 Elite Soldiers will appear from the room behind the Legacy. The Shield Soldier will come towards you aggresively, so it will help if you leave 1 grenade such as a Semtec for this situation.

Reinforcements Will Come From Outside Without The Suppression Mine

If the Suppresion Mine on the first floor in front of the stairs has been destroyed, reinforcements will continue to come up from the 1st floor.

You Can Also Charge Inside The Boss Room But Beware The Traps

There are 2 Trophy Systems and 2 Suppression Mines in the room where the Legacy is. Be careful of those if you choose to charge inside.

Legacy Fortress Rewards

Tactical Negotiator

tactical negotiator shotgun

The Tactical Negotiator is a Haymaker-based shotgun and a guaranteed reward for clearing out the Legacy Fortress. This is not a schematic, so note that you will lose it if you die holding it. But you can get it again by coming to the Legacy Fortress.

3-Plate Armor Vest

You can also obtain a 3-Plate Armor Vest if you didn't have one yet. However as metioned above, we highly recommend having it before trying to clear out the Legacy Fortress.
