Can You Play MW3 Split Screen?
Campaign Mode
Unfortunately there is no option to play the Campaign mode on a split screen. There is a possibility it will be added in a future update, however there has been no word of it at this point.
Zombies Mode
It is not possible to play the Zombies mode on a split screen. It could possibly be added in a future update, however there has been no word of it until now.
Multiplayer
If you are playing Multiplayer game mode online, you will be able to play split screen except for some modes like Free for All and Ground War. You will also have to check these off if you want to use the Quick Play mode. You will be given more options for different modes if you choose to play offline.
However note that this is only possible on PlayStation or XBox. There is no option to play split screen on PC at this point.
How To Play Split Screen
Playing Online
To play online both players will need a Xbox Game Pass Core or PlayStation Plus subscription in addition to 2 separate Activision accounts.
1. Add 2nd Player
At the HQ screen, turn on your 2nd controller and log in with their own PlayStation or XBox account.
2. Join Split Screen
You will get a message on the top right of the screen to join split screen (Press "X" on PlayStation or "A" on XBox).
3. Log In Activision Account
Now the 2nd player needs to log in their Activision account or create one. Once logged in, you should see that the 2nd player has been added to your party.4. Select Game Mode
Now go to the Multiplayer lobby screen and you can choose which game mode to play.
Playing Offline (Local)
1. Add 2nd Player
At the HQ screen, turn on your 2nd controller and log in with their own PlayStation or XBox account. The 2nd player doesn't require a subscription for this.
2. Join Split Screen
You will get a message on the top right of the screen to join split screen (Press "X" on PlayStation or "A" on XBox).
3. Log In Activision Account
Now the 2nd player needs to log in their Activision account or create one. Once logged in, you should see that the 2nd player has been added to your party.4.. Play Private Match
Go to the Private Match (Custom Match) lobby from the HQ screen.
