Prop Hunt is a hide-and-seek game mode pitting a team of players and map props. Props must use their surroundings to blend in and escape the eyes of the opposing team. Meanwhile, the team with the guns must hunt down each prop to secure a win.
Props Must Hide
Props do not have any guns with them and cannot fight back. They can only create decoys, change their forms, and throw a Concussion Grenade to escape.
Players Must Find All Props
The team with the guns must find and root out all Props in the map. Players can use tools like Concussion Grenades and the whistles to find all Props. Failing to do so spells defeat.
Prop Hunt Gameplay Tips
For Props
Use Your Speed To Trick Enemies
Although they cannot fight back, Prop players are more agile and faster than the players. Use your speed to sneak past the enemy lines and settle in safer parts of the map. Also, know that as a prop, your view is in 3rd-person while the other team is in first-person.
Smaller Size Is Better
Size matters in Prop Hunt. The smaller and thinner the prop, the lesser the area to get hit. Cycle through possible props that you can use to hide. You can also use your size to hide in bushes in maps like Cartel. Note that you can only change twice per round and you cannot revert back to your previous form.
Use Jump Lock To Attach To Walls
▲ A player hiding as a phone booth floating inside an elevator shaft won the match.
Take advantage of verticality and jump to walls to lock yourself to them. This technique can be done with any size or shape of prop. Most players do not check above ground level, increasing your chances of surviving.
For Players
Use Your Grenades
Each player has a Concussion Grenade that they can use to slow down or detect enemy props. They automatically go on cooldown after you use them. Use these grenades to determine where enemy props are located. You get a hit marker and a stun indicator whenever a prop gets stunned.
Wait For The Whistle
Every 20 seconds, all props produce a whistle to indicate their whereabouts. Use this clue to know the general location of a prop. With that said, use a decent headphone to help you pinpoint which direction the whistle is coming from!
Make A Net & Mark Targets
As a team, move as a net and try to coordinate your movements. Enemy props can sneak their way past your line or they can escape through weak spots. Communicate and coordinate to cordon possible spots, and be active in pointing out where you hear whistles.
How To Ping GuideRecommended Weapons
Weapons Are Random
The weapons handed to players are random with every match. These weapons come without any attachments. For equipment, the only thing that players bring into the match are Concussion Grenades.
