What Is Ping System/ Pinging & What Can Be Pinged?
Non-Verbal In-Game Item Designation System
The Pinging system / feature allows players to designate the location in their crosshairs for an icon to appear for in-game communication, like "defend", "attack", or "loot here". It allows teams to coordinate without using verbal methods like microphones.

How To Ping
D-Pad (Left Key) For Consoles
The default command to ping for console controllers is the D-Pad (Left Key). Note that the game provides numerous button layouts like Bumper Ping and Bumper Ping Tactical for you to change. You can change the setting in the Gameplay Settings menu.
Default Z Key For PC
The Default key to ping for PC is the Z key. Point your crosshairs to a target and tap Z to ping an item or objective. You can change your default key in the options menu.
Double Tap Ping Command To Alert Danger
If you see an potential danger or a imminent threat, double-tap the Ping command to send out an alert. You can even designate a key to become a one-click danger ping button!
