Rectangular Medium Map
Checkmate is a training facility that features a prop airplane in the middle surrounded by structures. The whole map is enclosed inside a hangar.
Features Elevated Platforms
Surrounding the plane are structures that provide vantage points, allowing players to have a good view of half the map. However, most of these elevated platforms are covered only with thin wood, and sometimes even offer little to no cover.

Get A Hybrid Loadout
Checkmate's layout features a mix between close and wide spaces. Having a good equipment for close to long range encounters greatly helps in navigating the corridors and open spaces of this map. Utilize your equipment and play its strengths.

Despite being inside a hangar, you can still use aerial Scorestreaks here. However, do bear in mind that their effects may be a bit limited as there are parts that they can't get to.

There is an Ammo Crate located just south of the plane. Both teams can use this to resupply ammo. With this, you can do away with the Scavenger Perk or the Assault Field Upgrade.
