Good At Long Battles Since The Deck Is Only Composed By Single-Prize Pokemon

  1. Kangaskhan

This deck only uses Single-Prize Pokemon, so the opponent has to defeat 3 Pokemon for the win. Use Kangaskhan as a wall to make time until Dragonite is ready

Possiblity of Not Drawing Stage 1 and 2 Pokemon Until Late Game

  1. Dratini
  2. Dragonair

Dragonite has 2 evolutions, so you need to draw Basic Pokemon and Stage 1 Pokemon before evolving. The weak point is that there is a chance Dratini will be Knocked Out before evolving to Dragonair or Dragonite.

Match Up against Meta Decks

The Dragonite deck takes time to prepare, but it is a deck that can win if you use Dragonite's moves two or three times.

Decks like Articuno ex with a small number of Pokemon, and main attackers like Weezing & Mewtwo ex that are slow to start, cannot Knock out Dragonite with one hit. Especially strong for decks.

Healing or Deck that can One Shot is Tough Matchup

The deck has a tough matchup against decks that have a lot of Healing methods like Venusaur ex, and decks that can one-hit KO like Charizard ex. If you can't defeat opponents even after using Dragonite's moves two or three times, or if you are defeated before that, it can be a tough match.

Dragonite & Kangaskhan Deck Strategy

  1. Endure Attacks with Kangaskhan
  2. Prepare Dragonite on the Bench
  3. Use Dragonite's Attack Repeatedly
Endure Attacks with Kangaskhan
  1. Kangaskhan

In early game, use 2 Kangaskhan to endure attacks. Use Kangaskhan's high HP to buy time until Dragonite is ready.

Prepare Dragonite on the Bench
  1. Dratini
  2. Dragonair

Once you draw Dratini, place it on the bench and aim to evolve to Dragonair, then to Dragonite. Dragonite requires 4 energy for the attack, so make sure to Attach Energy from Zone every turn.

Reduce Number of Pokemon to Prepare

This deck doesn't have Energy Acceleration cards, so attaching all Energy to one Pokemon is recommended. If you have multiple Dratini cards, send one to the Active Spot and use it as a wall to buy time.

Use Dragonite's Attack Repeatedly
  1. Dragonite

When the Dragonite is ready, put it on the Active Spot and attack. The attack targets random Pokemon, but you can usually win if you use it 2 or 3 times.

Keep Dragonite's HP High
  1. Potion

Once Dragonite is placed in the Active Spot, attack repeatedly. Use Potion to recover Dragonite's HP to endure attacks.
