  2. Using Giant Bloom Ability

Venusaur ex has a solid set of attacks, with Attack No.1 dealing 60 damage for 3 Energy and Attack No.2 dealing 100 damage for 4 Energy. Attack No.2, Giant Bloom, is especially powerful as it also provides HP recovery.

Lilligant’s Attack for Energy Acceleration

  1. Liligant Leaf Supply
  2. Using Leaf Supply

Lilligant’s Leaf Supply allows for Energy Acceleration to Grass-type Pokémon on the Bench. If you use Lilligant to accelerate Venusaur ex, it can start hitting with 100-damage attacks early on.

Higher Chance of Missing Evolution Cards

  1. Bulbasaur
  2. Ivysaur

Venusaur ex is a Stage 2 Pokémon, which means you’ll need to draw Evolution Pokémon cards. The deck’s main weakness is the risk of being Knocked Out before you can evolve Ivysaur into Venusaur ex.

Venusaur ex Deck Strategy

  1. Start the Game with Lilligant
  2. Build Venusaur ex on the Bench
  3. Use Venusaur ex's Giant Bloom in the Late Game
Start the Game with Lilligant
  1. Petilil
  2. Lilligant
  3. Bulbasaur

In the early game, attach 2 Energy to Lilligant and use its Attack to apply Energy Acceleration to Bulbasaur on the Bench. Until you can evolve into Lilligant, let Petilil tank as needed.

Build Venusaur ex on the Bench
  1. Ivysaur
  2. Venusaur ex

When you draw Ivysaur or Venusaur ex, evolve Bulbasaur on the Bench. Adding Sabrina or other Pokémon for swap support is helpful to maintain stability.

Use Venusaur ex's Giant Bloom in the Late Game
  1. Venusaur ex

Once Venusaur ex accumulates 4 Energy, move it to the Active Spot. Its Giant Bloom attack offers an added effect of restoring 30 HP, allowing for a more extended battle with support from Erika or Potion for additional HP recovery.
