Is Darkdrift Knight Strong?
How to Prepare for Darkdrift Knight (Fulghor) and What to Do Before Day 3
- Ironeye is an effective pick.
- Prepare Lightning Affinity weapons
- Increase Sacred Flasks at the Church by the day before
- Purchase Warming Stones
Ironeye Is Effective

Darkdrift Knight has many close-range and forward attack patterns, so you can attack relatively safely from behind or from a distance. If there is an Ironeye in the party, it's easier to deal damage consistently, and it's also easier to revive allies. Therefore, it is recommended to have at least one Ironeye in the party.
Ironeye Class GuidePrepare Lightning Affinity Weapons

The Darkdrift Knight is weak to Lightning Affinity. You can make them flinch with Lightning Affinity attacks, so be sure to prepare Lightning Affinity weapons before the fight.
Obtain Lightning Affinity Weapons at Lightning Affinity Bases

The Affinity is displayed in the bottom right of the Base icon on the map. Lightning Affinity weapons are easy to obtain at bases where the Lightning icon is displayed, so prioritize clearing these.
Increase Sacred Flasks at the Church by the Day Before

To increase the number of times you can Heal, make sure to increase your number of Sacred Flasks. Sacred Flasks can be increased at a Church, and you can check their locations on the map.
Church Locations and What You Can Do TherePurchase Warming Stones

In the area just before the boss, you can purchase various items with Runes. The more healing items you have, the easier it will be to progress, so purchase as many Warming Stones as possible.

Cancel Wide-Area Techniques With Lightning Attacks
When Darkdrift Knight Fulghor thrusts his Spear into the ground, it's possible to make him flinch and cancel the action with a Lightning Affinity attack. This not only prevents the Movement Speed Down debuff from activating, but also creates a definite attack opportunity, so be sure to aim for the cancel.
Late Game Disables the Cancel
As you reach the late game, you will become unable to completely cancel the Spear's thrusting attacks, and continuous wide-range attacks will be triggered more easily. In that case, you would want to flexibly switch between attacking and evading.
Focus On Maneuvering Behind the Enemy

Of the Darkdrift Knight, Focusing on attacking from behind allows you to deal damage relatively safely. Once you see the Darkdrift Knight's attack animation, dodge towards its back and exploit the opening after its attack.
Dodge When It Stabs Its Spear Into the Ground
When the Darkdrift Knight stops and stabs its Spear into the ground, spears of light will erupt from the ground. Dodge the moment it stabs its Spear to deal with this.
Focus On Dodging While the Ground Is Glowing
After the aforementioned attack pattern, while the ground is glowing, a continuous barrage of light spears will erupt from the ground. The risk of taking damage is high during this period, so focus on dodging instead of trying to attack.
Counter the Charge Attack by Dashing Perpendicularly

When the Darkdrift Knight's body glows and it initiates a charge attack, dash perpendicularly to its path to evade.
Beware of the Aoe Attack After It Charges Three Times

After charging three times, it will stop and unleash an AoE attack. To avoid this, find a safe zone where the ground isn't glowing.
Second Phase Adds Attacks Using a Giant Arm
When its HP drops below 50%, it will add attack patterns using a giant arm. An AoE attack occurs when it slams its giant arm, so dodge the moment it hits the ground.
Arm Attacks a Have Safe Zone Behind It
Most attacks using the giant arm are frontal AoE attacks, so focusing on moving to its back will make them easier to dodge.
