How to Prepare for Sentient Pest (Gnoster) and What to Do Before Day 3
- Fight with Fire Affinity weapons
- The boss is weak to Fire - Prepare Warming Stone and Neutralizing Boluses
- Increase number of Sacred Flasks at Church
Prepare Fire Affinity Weapons

Nightreign's Sentient Pest is weak to Fire Affinity. Prepare Fire Affinity weapons to increase your damage efficiency.
Fire Affinity Weapons Drop More at Fire Ruins

At the bottom right of the base icons on the map, the Affinity is displayed. At bases where the Fire icon is displayed, Fire Affinity weapons are easier to obtain, so be sure to clear them by the final day.
Prepare Warming Stone and Neutralizing Boluses

In the area just before the boss, you can purchase various items with Runes. The more healing options you have, the easier it is to clear, so purchase Warming Stones whenever possible. Also, Sentient Pest attacks by spreading Poison Mist, so if you find Neutralizing Boluses, prioritize keeping them.
How to Farm Runes FastIncrease Number of Sacred Flasks at Church

To increase the number of times you can heal, make sure to increase the number of Sacred Flasks. Sacred Flasks can be increased at a Church, and you can check their locations on the map.
Church LocationsSentient Pest (Gnoster) Boss Strategy and Attack Patterns
Split Up to Handle Scorpion and Moth
At the start of the Sentient Pest fight, you will face both the Scorpion and the Moth. Since the Moth flies and is difficult to hit with melee attacks, players with ranged weapons should focus on the Moth, while those with melee weapons should handle the Scorpion. This is an effective approach.
It Opens Fire After Ascending and Scattering
When the moth gains altitude and scatters scales, it will shoot light bullets that rain down over a wide area. These deal significant damage if they hit, but the attack buildup animation is clear, so create a large distance from the moth and prioritize dodging.
Prioritize Dodging When During Rush Attack
When Sentient Pest's HP drops to around 50%, the moth and scorpion will merge. After a roar that deals wide-area damage, it will launch a rush attack at the targeted player, so the player with the red Murk should focus on dodging. Other players should also be careful not to get caught in the charge.
Dodge Ground Attacks by Running Around
The scorpion may attack from underground. The timing of its emergence is hard to predict, so running around to dodge is the safest option.
Watch for Light Pillars When the Moth Glows
After the moth’s head begins to glow, be careful as light will rain down from the sky. The ground will also glow just before the light strikes , which you can use as a cue to dodge.
