Level Up by Using Runes at a Site of Grace

Leveling up in Elden Ring Nightreign can be done by approaching a Site of Grace and using Runes using the △ button. Runes can be earned by defeating enemies.
Check the Map for Site of Grace Locations
You can check the map for locations of Sites of Grace where you can level up. Head to the locations marked with the icon in the image above. Also, there are Sites of Grace that appear after defeating a boss.
How to Level Up at the Sparring Grounds

When adjusting your level at the Sparring Grounds, you can press the touchpad within the Sparring Grounds, select the level up option, and then adjust to your desired level from the level option. When trying out high-rarity weapons, adjust your level and change your equipment.

Benefits of Leveling Up
Stats Increase Automatically
When you level up, your stats increase automatically. Unlike the main Elden Ring game, you don't need to choose which stats to increase yourself. Also, each stat provides the following benefits:

Feel Stronger with Just One Level Up
One of the defining features is how much stronger the character becomes after a single level up. For example, leveling from 1 to 2 doubles a character's HP, making combat significantly easier. Since leveling up is instant, be sure to check if you can level up whenever you find a Site of Grace.
Stat Increase Differ by Character
The stats that increase upon leveling up vary between characters. It's designed so that stats compatible with the character's traits will increase.

Weapons and equipment have required equipment levels based on their rarity. Weapons with unique Weapon Skills often have higher required levels so keep that in mind.

Important Notes When Leveling Up
Lose 1 Level Upon Death
Characters who die will lose 1 level. Upon death, not only will your level decrease, but be aware that you will also drop the Runes you were holding.
Death Penalty & How to RecoverYou Won't Lose More Than 2 Levels
You lose 1 level upon death, but even if you die consecutively, you will not lose more than 2 levels from your original level.
Recover Runes After Death
If you drop Runes, you can recover them from the place you died or the enemy that defeated you, including the amount for the lost level, as long as you don't die again. However, be aware that any Runes not recovered before your next death will disappear.
Levels Reset with Each Playthrough
Character levels are reset with each playthrough, and you will start each time at level 1 with initial equipment.
