Recluse's Recommended Playstyle

Recover FP at Sites of Grace

As a Recluse, FP is quickly depleted due to its reliance on casting Sorceries. Remember to keep an eye out for nearby Sites of Grace to recover your FP during your expedition.

Prepare a Sub-Weapon

While the Recluse can recover FP from Affinity Residues and "Soulblood Song", other sources of recovery are very few and far between. Make sure to have a sub-weapon that you can swap into in case your FP runs out and you have no way to recover it. Preferably, a weapon that inflicts status effects to help your team beat bosses.

Climb Sorcerer's Rise Towers

There are towers known as "Sorcerer's Rise" dotted throughout the play area. These towers have been observed to have a high-probability of obtaining staves and Sorcery-related talismans, so make it a point to visit each one as you progress through your expedition.

Collect Affinity Residues using Sorcery from a distance

Fight from a Distance

The Recluse has a very low HP pool, so we highly recommend utilizing Sorcery from a distance. This strategy plays into the Recluse's passive ability since most ranged attacks apply elements, which allow the Recluse to collect Affinity Residues. These "Affinity Residues" recover FP for the Recluse, which allows the Reclose to cast even more Sorceries.

Release Magic Cocktail

After collecting 3 Affinity Residues, the next cast of Magic Cocktail will combine the gathered residues and release a spell that depends on the elements of the collected residues.

Use Ultimate for Recovery

"Soulblood Song" applies a debuff on affected enemies that increases their damage taken and heals their attacker. Additionally, while casting Soulblood Song, the Recluse becomes invincible, negating all damage. Use this during the beginning of a fight to amplify your team's damage, and then use it again in the middle of a fight to recover your team's HP and FP.
