    - Defeating Fell Omen Drops Special Relic
  2. Challenge and Clear 'Tricephalos'
  3. Unlock and Defeat Six Bosses (In Any Order)
  4. Defeat the Final Boss Once Unlocked

Progress Through the Tutorial

Progress through the tutorial

When you start the game, the basic controls tutorial begins first. Since many elements have been added or changed from the main story, use this solo space without other players to practice your controls.

Tutorial Guide & Rewards

Defeating Fell Omen Drops Special Relic

Fall Omen Fetish

Defeating Fell Omen at the tutorial's conclusion grants the 'Fell Omen Fetish' Relic upon entering to Roundtable Hold. Although its stats are modest, it enables immediate Relic equipping from game start. Defeat does not result in permanent loss, as retries are available via the Visual Codex interface.

Challenge and Clear 'Tricephalos'

Tricephalos Expedition

After completing the tutorial, you'll arrive at Roundtable Hold. From the central table, select 'Tricephalos' and choose Commence Expedition' to matchmake and begin your exploration.

Tricephalos (Gladius) Boss Strategy

Unlock and Defeat Six Bosses

Six Bosses Unlocked

Defeating Tricephalos unlocks six new bosses. There's no fixed order to tackle them, so it's best to start with the easier ones or those whose dropped Relics have effects that suit your playstyle.

List of All Bosses & Strategy Order

Try Repeatedly to Learn and Improve

All newly added bosses offer a tough challenge, so losing initially is normal. Focus on refining your tactics during the first few attempts and experiment with different characters to discover which fits your playstyle best. Consistent practice will lead to success.

Defeat the Final Boss Once Unlocked

Final Boss Night Aspect

After defeating three of the newly unlocked bosses, the eighth boss will appear. This boss is extremely powerful, so it's recommended to take on the remaining bosses first and gather more Relics before challenging it.

Post-Game Trophy & Completion

After defeating the final boss, dive into post-game content like trophy collection, Relic farming, and Garb hunting. With DLC planned for release within 2025, it's also a good time to start preparing.

Leveling Up

When you commence, you always start from level 1. During the day, defeat enemies to earn Runes and level up at a Site of Grace. You'll also want to collect equipment, so pick up any notable gear that appears from boss defeat rewards or treasure chests.

How to Level Up & Max Level Guide

Defeat the Boss That Appears at Night

Beginners Image

At night, the ring shrinks, and a boss appears where it has shrunk. If your party is wiped out in the night boss battle, it's game over, so prioritize survival in your strategy and aim to defeat it.

Day 2 is a Repeat of Day 1

Day 2 is a Repeat of Day 1

The flow of Day 2 is the same as Day 1. Spend the daytime strengthening your character and prepare for the night boss battle. However, be aware that bases or Sorcerer's Rises visited on Day 1 will not yield rewards if revisited on Day 2.

Defeat Nightlord on Day 3 to Clear

Defeat the Nightlord on Day 3 to Clear the Game

Defeating the Nightlord that appears on Day 3 will clear the game. The Nightlord is a very tough boss, so challenge it multiple times to learn its attacks.

Progress via Rewards from Wins or Losses

Old Pocketwatch

Whether you clear or fail an Expedition, you'll earn rewards like Relics and Murk. Relics are upgrade items that grant passive effects when equipped to characters, so even if you lose, repeated runs will gradually make you stronger. Murk, the in-game currency, also accumulates over time and can be used to purchase Relics for further character enhancement.

Strategies to Defeat Tricephalos

The First Wall For Beginners

Tricephalos

Tricephalos is the first challenging boss in Elden Ring. You cannot challenge other bosses until you defeat this one, so aim to defeat it while learning the game.

Secure Holy Affinity Weapons

Tricephalos is weak to Holy Affinity, and continuously hitting it with Holy Affinity attacks will apply debuffs to its attack and defense. A stagger also occurs the moment the debuff is applied, so fighting with Holy Affinity weapons is recommended.

Holy Affinity Weapons at Light Affinity Bases

Holy Affinity Weapons are Easier to Obtain at Light Affinity Bases

The Affinity is displayed at the bottom right of the base icon on the map. At bases where Light Affinity is displayed, Light Affinity weapons are easier to obtain, so try to clear them before the final day.

Fire and Physical Damage Negation are Effective

Tricephalos has a powerful fire breath and strong physical attacks swinging a chained Greatsword. If you choose defensive gear, securing fire or physical damage negation will reduce incoming damage.

Purchase Warming Stones & Other Items

In the area just before the boss, you can purchase various items with Runes. The more healing options you have, the easier it is to clear, so buy as many as possible. In particular, the placeable item "Warming Stone" is recommended as it can heal the entire party.

How to Farm Runes

Splits Into 3, Each Person Should Defeat One

Tricephalos transforms into a fireball and then splits into three bodies. These three share health, but it's troublesome because they each attack separately, so it's recommended that each person handles one, being careful not to involve allies in area attacks, and without overextending.

Things Beginners Should Know

Group Up and Watch the Map

Choose from 8 characters to tackle the challenge

Getting down has various demerits, such as losing levels. Even if you are downed, if an ally is nearby, they can rescue you, so stick together until you get used to it.

Share Your Intended Direction with Pins

Open the map and press R3 (right stick click) to place a pin on the map. It's shared with other players, so use it to indicate where you want to go.

Solo Play Is an Option for Sorcerer's Rise

Going solo temporarily to Sorcerer's Rise is a valid option. This area offers high chances to obtain Sorcery-related weapons and Talismans, but is mainly worthwhile for players using Sorcery characters like Recluse. If you use a Sorcery-based character, consider soloing Sorcerer's Rise to maximize your gains.

:

Refill FP and Flasks at Site of Grace

Approaching a Site of Grace will heal HP and FP, and also replenish Sacred Flask refills. Also, you can also recover from status ailments, so stop by when you take damage.

Site of Grace Locations & Functions

Increase Sacred Flask Refills at the Church

Church Increase Flask

Sacred Flasks are used to heal HP. You can increase the maximum number by examining the altar in a Church. The number of Sacred Flasks directly affects the survival rate, so prioritize heading to Churches.

Church Locations and What You Can Do

Pick Sub-Weapons by Passive Effect

Passive Effect

Weapons have random enhancement effects called "Passive Effects". Many Passive Effects activate just by possessing them, so when picking up sub-weapons, the key is to look at their Passive Effects and decide if they are necessary .

Defeat Bosses to Earn Dormant Power

Dormant Power

Defeating Great Enemies and bosses on the field rewards you with Dormant Power, which can be used to strengthen your character. Although there's a risk of death, the benefits are significant. Once you're comfortable with the game, challenge these powerful foes to efficiently boost your character's strength.

Find Stonesword Key & Clear Evergaol

Ge Stonesword KeyUse Key at Evergaol
Stonesword Key
Evergaol

Once you obtain a Stonesword Key from a chest or other source, head to one of the many Evergaols scattered across the map. Using the key unlocks a sealed Evergaol, allowing you to face a Great Enemy. Defeating it is a great way to earn Runes and strengthen your character.

Upgrade Weapons with Smithing Stones

Smithing Table

When you obtain Smithing Stones by defeating tough enemies or other means, upgrade your weapons at a Smithing Table. However, be aware that weapon upgrades require Smithing Stones corresponding to their rarity.

Defeat Scarabs to Obtain Talismans

Defeating Scarabs that appear in the field allows you to obtain Talismans that characters can equip. Also, you can equip up to two Talismans.

Cannot Hold More Than Two Talisman

Since Talismans cannot be held other than by equipping them, you cannot possess more than two. If you want to obtain a new Talisman, swap it out or drop it for an ally to pick up.

Strategies for Difficult Encounters

When you can't win in Nightreign, find a character that suits your playstyle, obtain Relics with powerful effects, and decide on a strategy for days 1 and 2. Also, learn the boss's attack patterns. Cooperation with teammates is essential, so whether you're playing with random players or friends, it's important to help each other and work together.

Find a Character That Suits You

Choose A Character for Team

First, find a character that matches your combat/play style. If you want to aggressively rush in with melee attacks, try 'Wylder.' If you prefer fighting from a distance, go with 'Ironeye.' Choose your character from eight unique heroes, each with their own personality and playstyle.

Best Classes Tier List

Get Relics With Powerful Effects

Old Pocketwatch

Equipping your character with powerful Relics lets you start exploration with an advantage. At the start of a run, you can carry items, and these Relics can also enhance your Character's Skill and Ultimate Art performance.

How to Get Them Relic & Effects

Relics Become Available as Days Go On

Relics are obtained regardless of whether you win or lose during exploration, but if you lose on Day 1 versus losing at the Day 3 boss, the Relics from Day 3 tend to have better effects. When collecting Relics, try to fight your way to the boss as often as possible to get higher-quality rewards.

Plan Your Route for Days 1 and 2

Plan your Route

What's important during exploration is how good the weapons you obtain are and how much you can level up. Each boss has a clear weakness to a specific affinity, so focus on gathering weapons with that weak affinity by visiting key locations and defeating Great Enemies to strengthen your character.

Study the Boss's Moveset

Study the Boss

Each boss has attack patterns that are almost completely different from one another. By repeatedly practicing how to dodge or counter the attacks of the boss you're facing, you will gradually improve your chances of winning.

Focus On Teamwork

Whether you're playing multiplayer with random players or friends, it's important to pay attention to your teammates' actions and the situation, and cooperate accordingly. It's also helpful to have support tools like the healing item 'Warming Stone', which provides continuous healing, or the Incantation 'Golden Vow', which reduces damage taken by allies.
