Dancer of the Boreal Valley Boss Strategy and Attack Patterns
Attack When it's in Walking Motion

Dancer of the Boreal Valley often walks after an attack, creating an opening before it moves to its next attack. Concentrate your attacks during its walking motion, and be ready to dodge if it counterattacks.
Backside is Relatively Safe to Fight

The Dancer of the Boreal Valley's main attacks are sweeping slashes that cover a wide frontal area. It rarely uses rear attacks, so position yourself at the backside to fight safely.
Roll Counter-Clockwise for the Grab Attack
The grab attack after it raises its arm is unguardable and deals high damage, making it a dangerous attack. Its movements have varying speeds, making the timing difficult, but you can safely dodge it by rolling counter-clockwise to get behind the boss.
Get Behind it or Create Distance

When its HP drops below 50%, it switches to dual-wielding, and its already numerous attack patterns increase further. The flurry of attacks with varying speeds makes them hard to predict, but many of its moves can still be avoided by dodging towards its back, just like before. Be mindful of this when fighting at close range.
Do the Same for Continuous Spinning Slash
After switching to dual-wielding, it will use a "Continuous Spinning Slash". This is a troublesome attack with a long duration that persistently tracks the target, but it can be dealt with by dodging behind the Dancer of the Boreal Valley or creating significant distance.
Beware Gap-Closing Upward Slash
Characters that fight from a distance, such as Ironeye, should be careful of its gap-closing upward slash. It has high tracking, so it's safer to evade by dodging rather than walking or dashing.
