Guardian's Recommended Playstyle
Guard Your Allies
The Guardian's "Steel Guard" passive ability improves the guarding power of shields, so if you manage to acquire a powerful shield during your run, you can play as the strongest tank. Especially in battles against strong enemies or bosses, the ability to draw attention away from your allies makes it easier for them to attack.
Utilize Guard Counter to Break Stance
The Guardian does not have the highest attack, but as a guarding specialist
, the Guardian can play offensively by using perfect blocks and guard counters to quickly break a foe's stance.
Disable Groups with Whirlwind
Guardian's "Whirlwind" character skill affects a fairly large area and launches enemies caught within the winds, so we highly recommend that players cast Whirlwind whenever you can hit and disable multiple targets at once. Alternatively, Whirlwind can be used as a simple source of damage against bosses, so use it whenever there's an opening.
Dispatch Weaker Targets First
Whenever a fight breaks out, there are typically multiple targets around, making it very easy to land Whirlwind on numerous foes. Whenever there's an oncoming battle, initiate the fight with Whirlwind and quickly dispatch defenseless enemies to thin out their numbers.
Create Attack Opportunities with Ultimate
Guardian's "Wings of Salvation" Ultimate creates a defensive zone where allies within its area become immune to damage. Keep in mind that this ultimate is a channeled ability, meaning the Guardian is unable to move while casting it. While the Guardian remains immobile during this time, allies inside the protective zone are free to act as usual, enabling them to safely deal damage to enemies without the risk of taking hits.
Rescue Downed Allies
An alternative use of Guardian's Ultimate would be to cast it when there is a downed ally that needs time to recuperate. Ultimately, it's up to the player on how to best use this ability, but we recommend 1 of 2 things: Cast it when allies are ready to commit to an all-out attack, or cast it to defensively for allies that need to heal or revive.
