Best Characters for Night Aspect
The best recommended characters for Nightreign's Night Aspect (Heolstor) are "Wylder," "Ironeye," and "Raider." Wylder and Raider are excellent because they can easily break the enemy's stance, allowing everyone to attack while landing a Critical Strike. Ironeye can consistently attack with a Bow even when enemies are moving around chasing allies, making them the most effective attacker.

Save FP and Items For the Second Form

Night Aspect has two HP gauges. Even after depleting its first HP gauge, you'll have to fight its second form, so save as much FP and as many items as possible for the second form.
Beware of Tricky Movements in the First Form
The Night Aspect's first form, "The Shape of Night", has tricky attack patterns involving lots of movement like dashes and charges, so be careful. When it's dashing or charging, focus on dodging instead of attacking recklessly.
Attack During Openings Made by Simple Melee Attacks
Simple melee attacks that don't involve major movements or charges can create large openings for you to deal damage, making it the safest time to attack the boss more thoroughly.
The Second Form Has Increased Attack Intensity

The Night Aspect's second form, "Heolstor the Nightlord," starts using more aggressive patterns, area-of-effect attacks, and ranged attacks. If you look away even for a moment, there's a high risk they'll close the distance or attack you from afar Therefore, always keep your eye on the enemy.
Dash in Preparation for the Homing Attack

The screen darkening means the boss will use a homing attack. Canceling this attack with an Ultimate Art that has a staggering effect is an option, but if you don't have an Ultimate Art, focus on evading.
Learn How to Deal with its Area-of-Effect Attacks
When you reduce the second form's HP to about 60%, Heolstor will jump upward into the sky and then use a powerful, space-rendering move that unleashes several area-of-effect (AoE) attacks. Be mindful of the AoE attacks as soon as the enemy lands and the follow-up flames that erupt from the ground.
Dodging Tips
1 | Start dodging immediately after the enemy lands on the ground. |
---|---|
2 | After that, keep moving to avoid the raised areas or fissures that erupt into bright light and flames. |
Chance for Ranged Attacks or Reviving Allies
There is a small window of opportunity of about 9 seconds from when Heolstor the Nightlord starts floating until it lands. This time can be used for ranged attacks against Heolstor or for reviving allies.
Charging Signifies the Start a Powerful Combo

After the boss crouches and finishes charging, it will immediately unleash a powerful and deadly combo. After performing a total of 5 combos, it will launch a wide-ranged attack that deals heavy damage, so it'll be good to master how to deal with it in order to avoid losing too much HP.
Dodging Tips
1 | Dodge the Slash with good timing. * Dodging by moving behind the enemy can make it easier to handle. |
---|---|
2 | Move to unlit or unaffected ground while dodging the Slash. |
3 | When the enemy jumps upward, start moving as far away from it as possible. |
3 | Properly time your dodges against the explosion that happens after Heolstor the Nightlord lands back down *If you can't maintain distance, use the invincibility frames from Character Skills or Ultimate Arts. |
