Worlds Collide!
Rifts have appeared in Fortnite, transporting items (and even people!) from various places onto the battle map.
Season 5 Duration
Season 5 will run until September 25, 2018.
Updated Gear
Shotguns Changes
You can now see how many of the pellets managed to hit within the reticle. Spread pattern is now consistent with no variation.
Firing two shotguns in rapid succession is no longer possible as a cooldown of about 1 second has been applied.
SMG Changes
Check Out Submachine Gun Stats!Damage to objects and players now match for Tac and Silenced SMGs.
Drop-off changes to the Suppressed SMGs makes it better suited for close-range fights.

- Fall off starts at 24 meters from 28 meters.
- Damage reduced to 80% at 35 meters from 85% at 47.5 meters.
- Damage reduced to 65% at 50+ meters from 75% at 70+ meters.

Map Changes & New Areas
Desert Area
The new Desert area is located at the southeastern edge of the map and contains the new location, Paradise Palms.
Paradise Palms
Paradise Palms is a desert oasis with an apartment complex and multiple pools.
Lazy Links
A luxury clubhouse located in the middle of a golf course, it features a pool and tennis courts.
Moai Statues & the Viking Ship
Easter Island is missing some of her statues thanks to the Rifts!
Rifts have transported a whole Viking shipyard on top of a mountain southeast of Snobby Shores. Plunder the treasures aboard with care. It's a long drop down!

Summary
The All Terrain Kart is Fortnite's first in-game transport that can fit your entire squad.
Speed Boost via Drifting
Drifting while driving the All Terrain Kart results in a speed boost!
Jump Over Obstacles
All Terrain Kart passengers can lean back together to jump over obstacles in-game.
To lean back, use S on keyboard or hold down on your joystick.
Roof as Bounce Pad
The roof of the vehicle can also double as a bounce pad.

How To Use
Stepping into rifts teleport you above the area you're currently in!
CAUTION: Rift teleport locations are RANDOM.

Season 5 has updated some of the in-game challenges and gameplay features.
Progressive Challenges
Progressive challenges can now be completed no matter the season by acquiring a fixed amount of XP.
Now, you can take your time and complete them whenever you want!
Weekly Challenges
Weekly challenges have been split between free and Battle Pass. The first 3 challenges will be free while the last 4 are for Battle Pass holders.
Complete 4 challenges to unlock weekly rewards.
Revive Teammates, Earn XP
Reviving teammates in 50v50 and Teams of 20 Limited Time Missions now earns XP from up to three times per match (30XP, 10XP, 10XP).
If you need extra XP, help your teammates out!
Down But Not Out Changes
Knocked down player collisions have been adjusted accordingly. Check if you can crawl under doors or smaller spaces!
Reviving Down But Not Out players who were crouched beforehand returns them to the crouching position.
Storm Movement
Storm circles 7, 8, and 9 now shrink in random directions into a new location instead of staying in the same area.
To survive, make sure to keep moving because you don't know where the storm circle will shrink next!
