Charging Sword Attack

Devil May Cry 5 Vergil Boss Fight Charging Sword Attack

When Vergil stays in place and lowers his knees, holding his sword's hilt, he's setting up for a sword attack that can be a variation of two types of moves - a forward sword rush attack or summoning of energy balls.

Rush Forward

Devil May Cry 5 Vergil Boss Fight Rush Forward

Vergil will rush forward towards your direction in a flurry of sword slashes.

Energy Balls

Devil May Cry 5 Vergil Boss Fight Energy Balls

Balls of purple energy will be summoned and sent flying towards where you are.

Weapon Deflect

After some time, Vergil will start deflecting your weapon attacks. This works for both swords and guns.

Energy Daggers

Energy beams will surround Vergil and he will send them flying off towards you. They have piercing power and can damage you when they connect.

This is one of Vergil's hardest moves to avoid. Make sure your life bar is full or pretty high to avoid getting defeated.

Devil Trigger / Demon Form

Vergil activates his Devil Trigger and turns into his demon form in this fight. This makes him move faster and inflict bigger damage. This does not replenish his HP bar.

In his demon form, Vergil will perform a series of varied sword attacks. These can range from his rushing forward slashes and several energy balls.

When demon form Vergil moves to the center of the field and starts flying upward, watch out. He will do a series of flight attacks of him rushing forward towards you.

Vergil becomes stronger and faster when he activates his Devil Trigger. Match it with your own to level the playing field. Try to do as much damage as you can before it runs out.
